As a Cargo Safety Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safety standards and safety performance globally ensuring compliance is always maintained within the Cargo network including staff, stakeholders and suppliers.
To develop a cargo safety programme to the importance of safety within the cargo business and ensure all stakeholders and staff are engaged in it. Develop and implement a freighter safety plan to ensure all future growth has consistency of safety standards and implementation across the network.
- To liaise and manage with the GHAs and conduct audits at stations. Ensure GHA training is reviewed and meets QR requirements. To manage and release safety bulletins to the cargo network as well as regular reporting.
- To ensure integration with the Corporate Safety team's strategy and objectives and full adherence to the company's Safety Management Systems standards and requirements.
- This role will also incorporate the cargo elements for Emergency Response including plans for freighter only stations, in conjunction with the corporate Emergency Response structure and procedures.
- Responsibility for assessing the Safety performance measurement of all GHA suppliers.
- Ensure delivery of all Safety related KPI for Cargo, including developing reporting programmes for management in Cargo and Corporate Safety
- This role is of a senior nature and there exists within the role a significant scope to influence the future success of the business.
- Ensure all Cargo Safety Manual changes are aligned with our Safety programme.
- Recommend best practices for safe and secure operation in accordance to airline best practices standards.
- Review all Cargo manuals to ensure the safety elements are kept updated, maintained and developed.
- Review all Safety related training elements. Ensure Safety is a core value of all training courses and remains relevant and updated.

To be successful in this role, you must be a graduate or equivalent level, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Work experience in Airline industry is a mandatory requirement for this role.

- Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Auditor Training, Cargo Management
- Knowledge and understanding of IATA/TACT regulations
- Understanding of SGHA Agreement clauses
- Safety Management Systems - Principles and Procedures.
In this position you will provide leadership on a strategic level and must be a confident and enthusiastic communicator with strong organizational and managerial skills. Furthermore a good command of written and spoken English is a must.

- Assist line manager to carry out planned audits working closely with Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 and record any finding when part of the team. Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to prepare recommendations and audit report.
- Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2, to review corrective action submitted by various departments.
- Assist in updating current company technical procedures and manuals (MOE, TPM, ASL, LSM, CAME, MTOE, RAC & Capability register) in consultation of Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to maintain compliance to acceptable levels.
- Assist in the preparation of Compliance and Safety Notices and Safety Bulletins and submit it for review by Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2.
- Evaluate qualification criteria of certifying staff, support staff and non-Aircraft Authorised staff for granting/ extending/renewing Qatar Airways authorizations.
- Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to evaluate occurrence reports generated from within technical or externally assigned to technical.
- Prepare recommendations for compliance related queries from other sections/department or companies and submit it to Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 for review.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers when required.
- Carry out all other Compliance & Safety activities as directed by Management.

- Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
- Degree (B. Eng., BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering), or Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with ICAO type II license.
- Experience in Compliance & Safety/Quality assurance/maintenance/ continued airworthiness environment/quality auditing.
- Training on auditing techniques as well as QCAA / EASA Part 145, M, & 147 training.
- Detailed knowledge of air legislation, particularly ICAO, QCAA, EASA & FAA Regulations.

- Understanding and application of regulatory requirements.

Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to prepare recommendations and audit report. Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2, to review corrective action submitted by various departments. Assist in updating current company technical procedures and manuals (MOE, TPM, ASL, LSM, CAME, MTOE, RAC & Capability register) in consultation of Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to maintain compliance to acceptable levels. Assist in the preparation of Compliance and Safety Notices and Safety Bulletins and submit it for review by Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2. Evaluate qualification criteria of certifying staff, support staff and non-Aircraft Authorised staff for granting/ extending/renewing Qatar Airways authorizations. Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to evaluate occurrence reports generated from within technical or externally assigned to technical. Prepare recommendations for compliance related queries from other sections/department or companies and submit it to Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 for review. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers when required. Carry out all other Compliance & Safety activities as directed by Management.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience. Degree (B. Eng., BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering), or Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with ICAO type II license. Experience in Compliance & Safety/Quality assurance/maintenance/ continued airworthiness environment/quality auditing. Training on auditing techniques as well as QCAA / EASA Part 145, M, & 147 training. Detailed knowledge of air legislation, particularly ICAO, QCAA, EASA & FAA Regulations. Detailed Knowledge of Compliance & Safety/Quality & Safety systems, continued airworthiness and aircraft maintenance fundamentals. Excellent problem-solving abilities with analytical skills. Understanding and application of regulatory requirements. Conversant with use of computers and AirNav & My Boeing Fleet. Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
