Job Description
Must have good knowledge of Environmental and Sustainability
- Responsibilities Managing, coordinating, monitoring and reporting on various environmental and sustainability aspects
- Ensure that Company's HSE policy and procedures are implemented across the project with respect to environmental issues
- Carry out impact and aspect reviews, Record and report environmental statistics to the manager as required Coordinate the environmental team activities on a day-to-day basis
- Advise project personnel on environmental issues Monitor project activities to ensure compliance to project HSSE requirements across the project with respect to environmental issues
- Responsible for the effective waste stream management on the project Carry out site inspections with supervision to ensure compliance with environmental requirements Act as a focal point during emergency response to environmental incidents
- Prepare reports on environmental incidents Investigate causes of environmental near misses and carries out root cause analysis
- A minimum of 5 years overall experience
- It is desirable to have an Environmental Science Engineering degree/diploma/certificate with other technical Expertise like LEED/ GSAS

**Job Overview**:
Working within the Onshore business, reporting to the Onshore Business Environmental Manager the Principal Environmental Specialist will be responsible for providing expert input and advice to the business function and projects on environmental management ensuring the implementation of global environmental systems for the Onshore operations.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure implementation of McDermott management systems
- Manage interfaces between McDermott, client and subcontractors as applicable
- Support FEED and projects as required
- Assist project management in preparation of environmental documents or plans, project kick off meetings, constructability reviews, readiness reviews, among others, as applicable
- Ensure sites within the business line identify environmental risks through the aspects and impacts or other risk reviews (e.g. ENVIDs) including identification of controls and objectives and targets to ensure those risks are managed
- Monitor, identify and communicate to the sites within the business line new and emerging local and applicable environmental regulation and requirements, including interpretation of theirs impacts to the business plan and provide solutions for adherence in a cost effective manner; provide updates as necessary to reflect changes in the legal and other regulations of the list of regulations applicable to the company’s operation
- Provide environmental expertise for pre-qualification and bids as applicable for business
- Provide technical and commercial support during tendering stage
- Ensure Global processes, practices, resources and tools are adequate to manage the environmental risks and regulatory compliance
- Support the planning and execution of the environmental assurance programs with QHSES assurance.
- Lead investigations of significant environmental incidents
- Ensure appropriate environmental resources are assigned to sites when required
- Prepare Environmental performance reports across the business line
- Ensure environmental training is included in onshore training matrix in coordination with QHSES training
- Support implementation of plans to meet business Objectives, Targets and Goals aligned to the corporate strategy
- Review Area MOCs related with Environmental as applicable to assess related risks and ensure proper mitigation
- Review the environmental Lessons Learned to ensure they are communicated and actions are implement, as needed, at the sites
- Support business ISO14001 external accreditation
- Supports business sustainability initiatives and reporting
- Supports the “Taking the Lead” and McDermott Operational Values (MOVs) program.
- Implementation of environmental program and activity plans.
- Mentoring and development of environmental personnel.
- Assist project management in preparation of environmental documents or plans, project kick off meetings, constructability reviews, readiness reviews, among others, as applicable
- Other duties related to environmental function, as directed by the Onshore Business Environmental Manager.
**Essential Qualifications and Education**:
- 8+ years environmental experience in oil and gas industry
- Degree in environmental science, management, engineering or other related field.
- Trained and experienced ISO 14001 standards internal or lead auditor
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as team leader.
- Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
- Be conversant with local and international environmental laws, regulations and norm
