Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Facilities Engineer, located in the Doha Metropolitan Area. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for overseeing facilities operations, managing facility management (FM) tasks, and performing preventive maintenance. Daily tasks include troubleshooting issues, ensuring the efficient functioning of facilities, and coordinating with the team to achieve optimal results.

Job Summary
The Facilities Engineer oversees the workers who maintain and repair buildings items. This position is responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. Coordinates and integrates maintenance engineering functions with those of the design, maintenance, engineering, and operations departments.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Develops, implements and directs a preventive and predictive maintenance program.
- Supervises the implementation of minor repairs and defects of the equipment, plant and buildings, as and when required.
- Executes renovations of existing facilities to ensure the delivery of the required output on the time frame given.
Verify and certify vendors quantity and invoices.

- Monitors repair defect issues for plant, equipment and buildings are all achieved with minor or zero re-works.
- Ensures speedy response for all "on-call" maintenance job are proactively given with quick works undertaken with minimal supervision.
- Maintains and keeps records readily available for viewing both for past maintenance works done as well as future schedule of preventive maintenance works. Documents recording all repair works and associated details (date, time, location, materials, cause, expenditures, etc. must be filed in good organization and accessibility for future auditing.
- Facilitating renovation undertaken must be evidenced by documentation on the same, showing all pertinent details, attachments and approvals especially for cases requiring purchase of materials and monetary budget.
- Ensures that posted schedule of routine check-up must be readily displayed in strategic location to keep update for concerned Maintenance Staff and updated reports on the same are being submitted to Engineer.
- Conducts actual site visit and inspection. Zero accident in the execution of maintenance jobs. Attend to physical coordination in case of critical work. Speedy response on any maintenance issues ensuring minimal effect of loss time to workshop operation.
- Ensures in the workshop that all group members use PPE & carry out the works as per the availability standards of the company management.
- Oversees and schedule maintenance on all plant processing equipment including routine and preventative maintenance.
- Oversees maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management.
- Performs or directs engineering evaluations and studies on existing pumping stations, lift stations, wells, water tanks, reclamation plants and related distribution/collection facilities and systems to determine needed facility upgrades to improve operational and control efficiency.
- Conducts on-job-training to direct reports to ensure required competencies are acquired.
- Monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development.

The Senior Facilities Engineer is a critical leadership role within the property management team, responsible for the technical oversight, preventive maintenance, and repair of all building systems within a sophisticated high-rise facility. This role requires a deep understanding of complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, a strong focus on life safety, and the ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who ensures the building operates at peak efficiency, complies with all regulations, and provides a world-class environment for occupants.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Systems Management & Operations:
- Oversee the daily operation, monitoring, and performance of all critical building systems, including but not limited to:
- HVAC systems (Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Air Handling Units, VAV systems)
- Electrical systems (Primary/Secondary Distribution, Switchgear, UPS, Generators)
- Plumbing systems (Domestic Water, Sanitary, Pumps, Backflow Prevention)
- Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems (Sprinklers, Pumps, Alarm Panels, Elevator Recall)
- Vertical Transportation (Elevators and Escalators) - coordinating with specialized vendors

2. Maintenance & Reliability:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for all equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Perform and assign corrective and emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular facility rounds and inspections to identify issues before they become problems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment history records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
3. Team Leadership & Vendor Management:
- Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of stationary engineers and maintenance technicians.
- Coordinate, supervise, and inspect the work of third-party contractors and service providers (e.g., elevator, fire alarm, HVAC specialists).
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality of work, compliance with contracts, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist in the training and development of junior engineering staff.
4. Life Safety & Compliance:
- Serve as a primary technical resource for all life safety systems and emergency procedures.
- Ensure 100% compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, BOMA, etc.).
- Act as a key responder for after-hours building emergencies and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Prepare for and manage all building inspections by authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
5. Sustainability & Energy Management:
- Identify and implement opportunities for energy conservation and operational efficiency to reduce the building's environmental footprint and operating costs.
- Monitor utility consumption and analyze data to track performance and identify anomalies.
6. Budgeting & Project Management:
- Assist the Property Manager in developing the annual operating and capital budgets for engineering-related expenses.
- Manage small-to-medium capital projects, including scope development, contractor selection, and on-site supervision to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and operation of complex building systems, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or lead role within a high-rise environment.
- Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and CMMS software.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and operational manuals.
