    The Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY is seeking an exceptional tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant or associate professor whose area of research is focused on understanding the contributions of the tumor microenvironment (TME) to any major aspect of cancer biology , including but not limited to tumor initiation, survival, progression, metastasis, immunotherapy, drug resistance, and recurrence.

    We are seeking a candidate who will apply innovative approaches to explore any aspect of the TME as it pertains to a variety of disease-relevant topics, including but not limited to early detection, DNA damage, metabolic rewiring, ECM remodeling, immunoregulation, angiogenesis, intravasation and extravasation, metastatic dormancy and outgrowth, response to therapies, precision medicine, and health disparities. Approaches used can include molecular genetics, epigenetics, functional multi-omics, computational biology, cutting-edge technologies for resolving spatial architecture, stem cell techniques, tissue engineering, state-of-the-art imaging, and animal models. Focus may be on tumor cells, non-tumor cells, and/or intercellular communication and interactions that affect disease state.

    The position provides opportunity for 80% research, 15% teaching, and 5% service. The successful candidate will be joining a rich community of cancer biologists in the department and across the entire university. Individuals with clinical activities may be candidates for joint appointments within the College of Veterinary Medicine or Weill Cornell Medicine (in New York City).
