Job Description
You'll need to be team oriented and flexible, with a really good approach to electronic repair and troubleshooting. You'll be cross-trained on our products and you'll be expected to follow complex schematics in isolating issues and in assembly.
You'll be resolving issues, troubleshooting, installing, servicing, and repairing equipment at customer sites. That includes working on some special high-visibility projects and following up with customers.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting daily service and repair needs and drive customer satisfaction
- Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; providing customer training as required
- Document all inspections, maintenance, and repair work
- Reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers
- Assesses product and equipment performance and recommend modifications or improvements
You'll work closely with colleagues and Technical Support staff. This is a role that requires some travel, and may also require the ability to work outside of normal business hours.
Qualifications
Education/Training: Associates Degree or equivalent technical training. Electrical/Electronic Engineering related Degree. Computer literacy required, Experience with Mechanical, Electrical and advantage with IT/Networks experience.
Experience: Minimum of three years' overall relevant experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment. FSE's should have a minimum of two years field experience with Electro-mechanical systems and preferred knowledge in IT networks. Candidate should have experience in installation, Integration, Testing and commissioning.

What You Will Do
Our Building Efficiency Division delivers products, services and solutions that increase energy efficiency and lower operating costs in buildings for more than one million customers worldwide.
As BMS Engineer you will report directly to the Operations Team Lead, Aftermarket Controls Segment and will be based in Qatar. You will carry out routine BMS service works on key contracted and mobile sites in Doha, Qatar. You will also be tasked with supporting end users with BMS related requests. As part of the PPM process, you will identify additional corrective, small works (and larger projects for Prime team) opportunities to contribute to the overall target of the team, and own the delivery of the some of the small works' opportunities identified. There is a possibility to join the call out rota to attend BMS emergency callouts supported by out of hours customer support teams.
How You Will Do It
- Carry out all the activities related to site implementation of the BMS system including and not limited to Site co-ordination between Customer, Sub-contractor, Supervisor, and Office team, Field devices (sensors, actuators, meters) Testing / Commissioning, Trouble-shooting and Calibration, Testing / Commissioning of DDC panels, Implementing 3rd Party Integrations such as M-bus, Modbus, BACnet and Lon, Liaise with experts to resolve technical issues at site, Creation of Graphical Pages, Creation and Troubleshooting of safe Controller Logics (Basic Chiller Plant, AHU, VAV, FCU, Pumps),Creation and Submission of As-built Documentation, Final Handover and sign-off to the satisfaction of Customer, Carrying out End-User Training Session
- Respond to BMS callouts where applicable
- Review any site log books during service visits and where time permits, attend to any minor issues during the visit
- Document service visit activities and create a service report - prepare clear and accurate reports on site during the visit
- Reports to also provide recommendations to upgrade, improve or repair clients' BMS via our sales lead process
- Attend regular departmental meetings
- Nurture client and supplier relationships maintaining JCI's revenue stream - develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Supervise subcontractors on site whilst performing works on behalf of JCI – electricians, panel manufacturers, etc.

What we look for
- 2-4 years' Experience in Control systems/ BMS as a service engineer.
- Engineering graduate with UPDA certificate
- Working knowledge of Metasys systems in both industrial and commercial environments preferred. Basic working knowledge of Easy IO, Niagara N4 will be a plus
- Experience with MCC panels and the ability to understand control panel wiring diagrams
- Basic understanding of mechanical plant operation and control as well as their related electrical systems
- Conversant with CCT and the operation of all aspects of control strategies

About the Early Talent Program
At Solar Turbines, we are dedicated to attracting and retaining next generation talent. Our new graduates have the opportunity work on projects that impact our business and the future of our company. The purpose of the program is to start the development and training of the next generation of highly capable and highly competent engineers.
