To carry out on-site installation service maintenance, alignment, cleaning, repair and modification of large high voltage generators, motors and sync condensers.
As a Global Field Service Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Stripping down and rebuild large generators and related equipment; fault find and rectify as necessary and overhaul and clean.
- Installing and commissioning of large turbo driven generators, sync condensers, and Motors.
- Carrying out mechanical alignment checks, basic Electrical tests and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical and laser based systems.
- Interpreting specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers' premises.
- Undergoing training if necessary to ensure that assistance to winding specialists in carrying out in-situ winding repairs/rewinds is provided.
- Carrying out an on-site risk assessment on every assignment and record details thereof on the special form provided.
- The job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and you may be required to undertake various duties as may reasonably be required of you by the Company.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience -a minimum, qualified through a recognized Craft apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high voltage rotating electrical machines.
- Have 5+ years of Mechanical experience working on Motors and Generators.
- Have knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of Health, Safety & Environment.
- Be Self-reliant, resourceful and a problem solver with well-developed commercial awareness.
- Be an effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Be flexible to travel and undertake extensive overseas and offshore working away approximately 29 weeks per annum.
- Have experience in dealing with external stakeholders on site and operating remotely on own initiative.
- Be a good team player with the ability to work independently

Commis Chef is a key role which assists the head chef in the preparation and service of all sections in the Kitchen. Build an effective and motivated team which delivers consistent operational standards. Every day, constantly elevate the guest care quality and provide a fantastic service that our guests love.
- Under the general guidance of the head chef, understand practices basic food hygiene as defined within the company guidelines and the Daily Diligence Diary.
- Communicate any information to the relevant team members, including information on stock levels, best working practices, and quality control in accordance with operational standards.

Education and Experience:
- Ideally, your background will be from the hotel / F&B industry and have worked as a Commis Chef for a minimum of 2 years in a 3-star or above category hotel.

Our Field Service Engineers are in the first line when it comes to representing Kongsberg to our worldwide customers. To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a **Field Service Engineer** to join our Global Customer Support (GCS) department at Doha -Qatar.
Working as a Field Service Engineer you will do installation and commissioning of Kongsberg’s K-Gauge Tank Level Gauging systems on LNG/LPG vessels and in major shipyards locally & around the world. You will do service and maintenance on installed systems on sailing ships, as well as offer in-house technical support and remote service to external and internal customers. If you have technical qualifications in electronics, instrumentation, automation or telecommunication, can identify with our values; _determined, innovative, collaborative_ and _reliable_, and are highly motivated for worldwide support activities, you are the person we are looking for.
**Key accountabilities**
- Installation & commissioning of K-Gauge tank level monitoring systems
- Service & maintenance of K-Gauge systems onboard vessels all around the world
- Technical support and on-call/remote service
**Qualifications and experience**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one or more of the following: electronics, instrumentation, automation, or telecommunication.
- Field experience from maritime, shipping and/or offshore oil & gas installations is an advantage
- Fluent in English both written and orally
- Highly motivated for worldwide support activities
**You are able to**

- use a methodical and systematic approach, plan ahead, define clear priorities
- communicate in a clear, precise and structured way

Job Description
Within a team of other senior and more junior field engineers the incumbent will successfully manage the costumers to fullfill the uptime requirements for our products.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning, operator instructions, maintenance and repair on products and trading goods sold by Smiths Detection
- Complete factory configuration of complex spare parts, including IT components.
- Repair of equipment and systems including the required documentation.
- Integration in complex environments
- Participation in Stand-by and Shift-work Services
- Supporting Level 1 & 2 service staff
- Feasibility of task in accordance with laws and provisions
- Usage of spare parts based on the technical fault analysis in accordance to the contract and/or in accordance with the customer
- Act as escalation level for the Level 1 & 2 service staff
- Perform shift and resource planning of Level 1 & 2 service staff
- Continuous supervision of the local service organization as well as available resources
- Ensure full process adherence of the allocated technical staff and proper reporting according to the contract.
- Drive continuous process improvements in order to achieve operational excellence and maximum efficiency.
- Management of spare part inventory and material movement
- Monitoring of installed system base
- Capable to integrate products in complex environments and commission the corresponding interfaces
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems
- Replacing faulty network hardware components when required
- Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made
- Configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
- Strong focus on customer requirements and problem solving

The Individual
- Degree in Electronics & Telecommunications
- At least 2-3 year of experience as System Specialist, with the ability to functionally lead teams
- Worked on large scale installations in an international environment.
- Handle unexpected issues outside the daily routine, remove roadblocks and drive the execution of resolution measures
- Remain calm in stressful situations and act with resilience and tenacity, Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual
- Software skills: MS SQL Server, SQLite, PostgreSQL Windows and windows Dashboards, Linux, VMWare vSphere ESXi, SAP, ServiceMAX, Windows Automate, Windows script, SSH, SNMP, RSTP, C#.NET, Python, C++, VeriLog
- Capable of integrating products in complex environments and commissioning the corresponding interfaces Strong focus on customer requirements and problem solving
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage teams as well as working as part of an integrated team
- Fluent language skills in English
