We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer / Accountant to manage and support core financial operations including accounts payable, payments, cash management, and reconciliations. Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:
  1. Process supplier invoices, verify approvals, and ensure timely payments.
  2. Maintain vendor records and handle queries or discrepancies.
Payments:
  1. Prepare and execute payment runs via bank transfers, cheques, or other approved methods.
  2. Ensure appropriate documentation and authorization for all disbursements.
Petty Cash Management:
  1. Maintain and reconcile petty cash balances.

Account Reconciliations:
  1. Perform periodic reconciliations of bank accounts, vendor ledgers, and other GL accounts.

  1. Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and budgets.
  2. Monitor actuals vs. budget and report variances.
  3. Assist in P&L preparation and financial reporting.
General Ledger Entries:
  1. Post journal entries and ensure accuracy in the GL.
  2. Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Bank Transactions:
  1. Record all bank transactions promptly and accurately.
  2. Liaise with banks for operational requirements and issue resolution.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. 2–4 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
  3. Strong knowledge of Excel and financial reporting.
  4. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Role

Overview

Responsible for Cargo Revenue Accounting, Stock Controller and Cargo Accounts Receivables of Doha Sales. Supervises two AR teams: one that raises invoices to customers and another that collects debts. Interacts with government officials and high-profile customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly AR closing process including reconciliation of the AR customer accounts.
  • Prepare Monthly AR activity and tie-back to the AR Aging.
  • Prepare AR Year End Schedules used for external reporting.
  • Prevent receivables from exceeding 30 days for all parties; if exceeded, submit a report to Management within the specified timeframe.
  • Highlight debts that are in doubt to higher management.
  • Ensure timely collections and conduct credit checks on all customers while maintaining detailed accounts analysis by party.
  • Establish and manage credit limits; monitor and report deviations from credit standards.
  • Provide proper credit assessment to create a customer profile in Oracle.
  • Correspond with financial institutions regarding opening of new accounts, currencies, and company authorized signatories.
  • Ensure bank statements, reports, and formats are available for accounting reference for all finance sub-staff.
  • Follow up daily with customers for debt collection and accounts reconciliation.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and issue statements of account for customers in coordination with the debt collector.
  • Attend to customer queries regarding accounts and related fares/debtors; contact customers to request payments and resolve issues.
  • Raise debtor follow-up letters in Arabic/English for Government and all AR customers.
  • Customer visits; monitor aging reports daily; review customer statements for overdue amounts.
  • Prepare monthly aging reports and daily/ monthly collection reports.
  • Build and maintain strong rapport with customers.
  • Issue receipts for cheques or cash received.
  • Manage daily visits report for all debt collectors.
  • Cross-check daily bank statements and ensure receipts are booked in Oracle.
  • Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent with 5-7 years of experience in Sales to cash, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Chart of Accounts.
  • 2-3 years of experience in aviation/travel/hospitality domain.
  • Good Arabic verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office.
  • Very good command of English language.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously before deadlines.
