Fire Suppression Technician - Qatar***:
- Install, repair and maintain fire suppression systems.
- Create a 30-day schedule for an initial site inspection of all facilities.
- Create and maintain an annual inspection work order database built for detection, alarm and protection systems to establish an inspection schedule.
- Create and maintain a list of impaired systems, corrective actions needed, outstanding discrepancies and recommendations for system improvements.
- Perform all quarterly, semi-annual and annual inspections and testing to include exhaust suppression system inspections, tests and semi-annual maintenance on all kitchen ventilation hoods and fire suppression systems in accordance with the PWS, manufacturer's instructions, applicable NFPA Standards, and UFC 3-601-02.
- Check all fire extinguishers assigned to that location to include swap out of extinguishers greater than six years old, those that have been used, blown off, or are leaky.
- Update the database and attach new service tags as required.
- Attach monthly and annual maintenance tags to each system indicating last inspection date and time and next inspection date due.
- Maintain a signed and dated log of maintenance/certifications indicating the inspection/cleaning within two days of completion.
- Handle all data collection of maintenance and inspection activities: date of competion, name of technician performing the work, and the results of the inspection/test performed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Requires at least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role preferably at a US military installation.
- Must have direct experience relating to the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire suppression systems.
- Requires excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Requires a valid driver's license and current passport.
- Must have an Active U.S. Government issued Secret Security Clearance and maintain it for the duration of the contract.
- Must have the ability to successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain a Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- NICET Certification.
**EDUCATION**:
- HS diploma or GED required
**OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:
- Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities in an OCONUS environment
- Relevant overseas experience, preferably in the Middle East with knowledge of local culture and customs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards
**WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS**:
This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit / 50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time.

Specific Accountabilities :
- Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
- Uses local / global standards to support technical excellence.
- Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
- Identify the safety engineering scope of work from the basis of design.
- Conduct HAZID & HAZOP workshops.
- Design Safety Reviews / Studies, Layout, EERA, ESSA, F&G, Dropped Object, Hazardous Area.
- Ensure technical integrity of the Safety & Risk discipline’s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities.
- Document key design decisions that may have a significant safety impact.
- Squad checking of deliverables
- Updating lessons learned in the lessons learned register.
- Safety & Risk Studies : Preparation of Safety & Risk Philosophies. Design Requirements for Safety Systems. Active Fire Protection Design (PipeNet). Passive Fire Protection Design. Fire and Gas Design. Hazardous area classification. Escape routes and safety equipment specification. Formal Safety Assessments.
- Identify major Accident Hazard events and apply a formalized approach of hazard management to identify and provide means of mitigation and reduction of hazards.

- Degree in appropriate engineering subject
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in similar role.
- Experience of safety engineering in the offshore oil and gas industry
- Experience of office working and of working within a project team

- Ability to use Technical Safety software pertinent to design reviews (e.g. DNV Phast & Safeti, Gexcon Shell FRED & Shepherd, Sunrise Pipenet, Schlumberger Flaresim)
- NGL experience is an additional advantage.
- Use techniques, spreadsheets, databases and proprietary software as necessary to perform safety study assessments and generate project deliverable documents, including production, checking and approval as required
- Preparation of design deliverables including philosophies, reports, studies, specifications, data sheets, drawings, etc whilst following all applicable operational procedures
- Coordinating and liaison with other engineering disciplines as necessary in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring that other disciplines input is incorporated
- Ensure compliance with relevant specifications as well as applicable national/ international regulations, codes and standards
- Responsible for the review and approval of vendor documentation as applicable to the discipline
- Ensuring Purchasing and Estimating Departments have technical information for obtaining costs and availability of Technical Safety equipment and materials
- Maintain effective interfaces between the Technical Safety project team and other disciplines teams, Client representatives and other third parties as required
- Represent the Technical Safety discipline internally and externally on design issues they are involved in
- Provide progress reporting and forecasting input to the Lead Technical Safety Engineer as required
- Follow standard working procedures and ensure that compliance with relevant QA/QC systems is achieve.
