About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Group Class Fitness Manager to lead and elevate our large scale group fitness operations within Qatar's leading fitness and wellness company. This is a senior leadership role that requires not only passion for fitness and wellness but also proven expertise in managing large teams, diverse programs, and delivering exceptional member experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' managerial experience within a fitness and wellness organization, with a proven ability to oversee and grow high performing group exercise departments across multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire Group Exercise (GX) Division, ensuring world class program delivery across multiple modalities.
  • Develop, implement, and continually refine group fitness programming that aligns with the company's vision and member needs.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate instructors to maintain a high level of service, professionalism, and class quality.
  • Establish systems to monitor, evaluate, and continually upskill GX staff through workshops, certifications, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee scheduling and operational logistics for large scale group class timetables across multiple facilities.
  • Ensure class quality and consistency by developing performance evaluation frameworks for instructors.
  • Drive member engagement, satisfaction, and retention through innovative programming and outstanding class experiences.
  • Collaborate with marketing and membership teams to promote GX offerings and drive participation.
  • Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational reports for the GX department.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years' managerial experience in a fitness and wellness company, specifically in group fitness operations.
  • Proven ability to manage a large and diverse GX team with multiple specializations.
  • In depth knowledge of group fitness modalities, including:
  • Les Mills programs
    (BodyPump, BodyCombat, BodyAttack)
  • TRX
  • Spinning
  • Zumba
  • Step & Aerobics
  • Belly Dance, Aero Dance, Choreography
  • Pilates & Yoga
  • Strong operational management skills, including class scheduling, program planning, and performance tracking.
  • Ability to design and implement progressive staff development processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to link GX operations to revenue and member retention.
  • High level of creativity and innovation in developing class programming.

Education And Experience

Supporting Management of Spa Operations and Budgets

  • Assumes the responsibilities of the Spa Director in his/her absence.
  • Ensures all employees have the proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
  • Comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of department.
  • Manages supplies and equipment inventories within budget.
  • Maintains cleanliness of spa and related areas and equipment.
  • Understands the impact of department's operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and managing to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.

Ensuring and Delivering Exceptional Customer Service

  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focusing on continuous improvement.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Solicits employee feedback, utilizing an "open door" policy and reviewing employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
  • Brings issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary.
  • Observes service behaviors of employees and providing feedback to individuals.
  • Participates in employee progressive discipline procedures.
  • Participates in an on-going employee recognition program.
  • Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
  • Supports a Spa orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.
  • Supervises on-going training initiatives and conducting training when appropriate.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensuring employees do the same within the team.
  • Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
  • Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
  • Assists the Spa Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the spa as necessary.
