Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our office in Qatar, within the building services team.
To be successful, you must be a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience. You should have a sound understanding of current mechanical engineering technologies in the design and delivery of large institutional, residential, retail, commercial, and educational developments.
Key requirements include:
- Experience working within the Middle East and holding Grade A certification.
- A proven track record of delivering large-scale multidisciplinary sustainable building designs from an engineering consultancy.
- Experience preparing authority submission documentation and liaising directly with local authorities in Qatar.
- Experience leading and preparing firefighting, plumbing, drainage, and HVAC design calculations and drawings.
- Strong understanding of NFPA and QCDD standards.
- Excellent technical report writing, documentation skills, and proficiency in English communication.
- Extensive experience using current technology analysis software for firefighting, heat load calculations, and energy modeling.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (REVIT) software.
- Ability to work independently and proactively as part of a team on project delivery.

Some of the tasks include the following: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Qatar Airways' brand and target audience demographics. This includes identifying trends, analyzing competitor offerings, and forecasting future content needs. Cultivate and maintain relationships with content providers, studios, distributors, and licensing agencies to secure high-quality and diverse entertainment options. Lead in the curation, selection and acquisition of entertainment content, ensuring they meets the standards of quality, diversity, and relevance. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously refresh and expand the content library. Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate content delivery systems seamlessly into the inflight entertainment platform. Leverage technology solutions to enhance the passenger experience and streamline content management processes Utilize data analytics and passenger feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of content offerings. High School, Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with minimum of 9+ years of experience of inflight entertainment content and media integration systems. Support and manage end-to-end inflight content development process, including content acquisition, scheduling, metadata management, and quality assurance. Collaborate with content providers, studios, and distributors to source high-quality movies, TV shows, music, and other entertainment offerings tailored to Qatar Airways’ diverse passenger demographics. Support the identification and management of relationships with content providers, distributors, and licensing agencies to ensure consistent access to premium and high-quality entertainment. Ensure all content selection are aligned with Qatar Airways brand values, passenger demographics, and regional/cultural sensitivities. Conduct regular analysis of content performance using passenger feedback, usage data and industry trends to recommend data-driven enhancements. Assist in managing the content acquisition budget by identifying cost-effective sourcing opportunities while maintaining content quality and variety. Collaborate with content providers, studios, and distributors to source high-quality movies, TV shows, music, and other entertainment offerings tailored to Qatar Airways’ diverse passenger demographics. Support the identification and management of relationships with content providers, distributors, and licensing agencies to ensure consistent access to premium and high-quality entertainment. Ensure all content selection are aligned with Qatar Airways brand values, passenger demographics, and regional/cultural sensitivities. Conduct regular analysis of content performance using passenger feedback, usage data and industry trends to recommend data-driven enhancements. Assist in managing the content acquisition budget by identifying cost-effective sourcing opportunities while maintaining content quality and variety. Perform other department related duties as directed by Line Manager or Head of Department.

Qualifications
About you
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic professional to join the Product Development and Design.
High School, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum of 5+ years of experience of entertainment, content and media integration systems. Good understanding of content licensing pricing structure and operational costs and Experience managing digital asset libraries or content repositories Familiarity with digital content delivery systems, inflight entertainment platforms, and related technologies. Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic Strong written reporting, attention to detail and communication skills. Advanced skills in MS Office and visualization tools such as Power BI, or any related software.

Job Description
To carry out feasibility study, concept design, load estimation for new District Cooling projects, lead the concept and detailed design of District Cooling underground networks, plants, and energy transfer stations. To lead and coordinate all activities related to design process independently and liaise and coordinate with all clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of projects.
Day-to-day Operations:- Prepare and follow up on design program and schedule.
- Estimate cooling demand, prepare concept design, presentation, scope of work etc. for new District Cooling projects and provide support to Sales & Business Development.
- Prepare, review, and approve testing and commissioning plan, procedures, method statements, data sheets, testing criteria, and testing and commissioning reports.
- Follow up on ongoing, pending, and due submittals, review subordinates’ review comments, highlight differences and deficiencies.
- Conduct site inspections related to design, testing and commissioning along with team members when necessary to ensure work is carried out in accordance with the requirements.
- Lead concept and detailed design of District Cooling underground networks, plants, and energy transfer stations.
- Guide, lead, and coordinate the works of engineers and CAD designers etc.
- Solve design related issues/clashes in coordination with other parties involved.
- Review design reports, design drawings, material submittals, method statements, show drawings, hydraulic and stress analysis models - all related to District Cooling plants, network, and energy transfer stations.
- Prepare design reports, technical specifications and update technical specifications for District Cooling plants, network, and energy transfer stations.
- Provide technical support for District Cooling network testing and commissioning, tie-in with different network package interface and District Cooling plants.
- Validate testing and commissioning results for District Cooling discipline and prepare and review testing and commissioning guidelines for contractors and developers.
- Lead and coordinate all activities independently of design process including attending meetings related to design progress and coordination with clients and all stakeholders.
- Interact and communicate with clients, external and internal consultants, all internal team members and contractors to ensure smooth operation of projects.
- Liaise with and provide guidance to CAD designer as and when required.
- Provide support during the tendering phase in evaluating bidders in line with technical requirements for the project.
- Review technical proposals from EPC contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and prepare evaluation reports for all procurement related to plants, network, and energy transfer stations.
- Organize and supervise the work of the assigned team to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
- Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
- Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while promptly reporting on any variances to management.
- Provide inputs and implement policies, systems, and procedure for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
- Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
- Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet Marafeq Qatar and department requirements, policies, and quality standards.
- The job holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the job.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in the design of District Cooling systems with a major District Cooling utility company / infrastructure designer / EPC contractor in GCC.
- Experience in mechanical building services (HVAC etc.) / District Cooling.
