We are looking for an Operations Geologist I for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Doha, Qatar - ONSHORE

Start Date: OCT-2025

End Date: DEC-2027

Work Scheme: Rotational, 28 days On and 28 days Off

Qualification and Experience Required:

• 15 years' experience within a Subsurface organization
• Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree, and preferably Master's degree (in a Geoscience / RE / PE subject)

Accountabilities

• Coordinate the geological operations planning and safe delivery of up to 35-40 new wells and re-drill work overs per year across three to five rigs.
• Responsible for the well SOR process co-owned with Drilling and Wells entity
• Coordinate the activities of the team for fluid functioning between operational follow-up and well preparation schedule (drilling sequence)
• Ensures quality of all tasks under the responsibility of the team
• Ensures that the team has a long-term view of upcoming wells and the needs of the different reservoirs in terms of data.
• Supports BOD check to ensure optimal well design
• Ensures the temporary work of New Well Delivery Manager during his absence.
• Optimise WSG and OPS geologist staffing levels to match operations
• Regular contacts with services companies (mudlogging, Coring, LWD and wireline logging)
• Track PVA (pre-drill well design changes, data acquisition, realised wells, static results etc) for phase 2 and 3 developments
• Budget impacted (indirect): data acquisition costs (20 to 30 MUSD/well)

Overview

Responsible for Production & Development Geology activities in QatarEnergy nonoperated International O&G assets. Carry out reservoir characterization & regional studies, appraisal plans, evaluation of well data, cores & SWC's, RCA & SCAL analysis, fluid samples & dynamic data in order to build conceptual framework needed for reservoir modelling and implementation of development plans for conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Build 3D geomodels from scratch, integrating all static and dynamic information, including environment of deposition (EOD) and seismic attributes utilizing multidisciplinary approach. Work closely with reservoir engineers to integrate data to identify optimum development and infill well locations and completion targets for best recovery, plus recommendations of areas for potential incremental reserves addition. Accountability for updating static reservoir models and ensure to provide optimum models for reservoir simulation and reservoir management purposes.

Reviewing all non-operated assets' daily well reports and all geological data and ensuring best quality data is obtained. Participate in functional and technical review meetings for all assets and constructively challenge the operator and provide support for improvement, including participation in budget reviews, business plans and all related asset management activities.

A minimum of 15 years' experience in the O&G industry, including practical hands-on geosciences work within the Field Development and Management area as a Production & Development Geologist. Exposure to diverse International assets & Environments, depositional settings, carbonate and siliciclastic, O&G Deep water Pre-Salt & Turbidites appraisal & development, FDP & FID execution experience. Horizontal well planning & execution support including real time. Have worked in both Operated and Non-Operated ventures. Should be abreast with most of the technological developments. High proficiency or expert in Computer Applications in his field including specialized software (such as Petrel.etc). Deep Understanding of clastic & carbonate depositional environments & sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy & reservoir geology.

B.Sc. with a major in Geology from an accredited university. A Master's and Ph.D in Reservoir Geology / Management would be a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design software, including AGS databases.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Middle East experience is preferred but not essential.
