Head of Technology – Qatar Payments Platform
We are seeking an experienced
Head of Technology
to lead the development, architecture, and secure operation of our next-generation payments platform in
Qatar
. This senior leadership role is based in
Doha
and requires deep expertise in fintech systems, regulatory compliance, and scaling secure, high-performance platforms supporting
acquiring, issuing, SEPA, SWIFT
, and
cross-border payments
.
As a key member of the executive team, you will drive the technology roadmap, manage regional engineering teams, and ensure seamless collaboration with global product, technology, compliance, and operations functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end technology strategy and execution for our
Qatar PSP platform
, aligned with
Qatar Central Bank (QCB)
regulations,
PSD2-equivalent frameworks
, and
PCI-DSS
standards. - Design and build
scalable, secure, real-time payment systems
using
microservices architecture
. - Build and mentor a high-performing local team of engineers, DevOps, QA, and solution architects.
- Ensure platform reliability (99.9% uptime), implement
CI/CD pipelines
, and optimize
cloud infrastructure
(preferably AWS). - Oversee
technical compliance
,
InfoSec governance
, and
regulatory audit readiness
. - Drive integrations with
local and regional banks
, card schemes, alternative payment providers, and fintech vendors.
What We're Looking For
- 10–15 years in technology leadership, with 5+ years in fintech/payments/PSPs.
- Hands on experience building or scaling payment platforms (acquiring, issuing, wallets, or gateways).Stron
- g knowledge of PCI-DSS, SWIFT, SEPA, ISO20022, Open Banking APIs, and alignment with QCB guidelines or other GCC regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working with Qatari banks or the Qatar Central Bank is a significant advantage.
- Technical expertise in Java/.NET/Golang, Kubernetes, microservices, event-driven systems, SQL/NoSQL.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency or willingness to learn is preferred.
