Overview

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an experienced Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems Mechanic to perform various technical and non-technical activities in the support of facilities maintenance overseas in Qatar. Equipment ranges from residential to industrial and commercial equipment.

Essential Job Duties

Inspections, maintains, repairs and installs HVAC equipment (chillers, air handling units, VAV Boxes, variable frequency drives, fan coil units, DX systems, duct, filters etc.) and maintains available back-up assets on hand to ensure operational levels. Validates and oversees testing and commissioning of HVAC systems and ensures that O&M manuals and documents are completed. Ensures all installations are in compliance with local regulations, and that the unit will provide efficient heating and air conditioning for the spaces. Checks for ventilation efficiency of the system and makes adjustments if necessary. Shall maintain a computerized database maintenance log of all preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) done on HVAC to include any major component change or replaced item. Contractor shall identify critical parts to have on hand and get additional technical help within a 24-48 hour time period. Able to read as-built drawings and participate in any design package reviews or field surveys for all sustainment, repairs and enhancement projects. Performs Quality Assurance monitoring of others performing HVAC work and prepares reports. Performs preventive level III maintenance tasks on complex equipment.

Minimum Requirements

Active in scope TS/SCI security clearance. Completion of an HVAC/Refrigeration Apprentice or HVAC certification program. At least seven years’ of HVAC with package units and split units. At minimum five years’ experience with air conditioning units from five ton condenser units to 383 ton chillers. Experience with residential, commercial, and industrial systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of the Air Force or Army culture, language and expectations for mission success. Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.

Work Environment

Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required. Working conditions include a combination of an office environment and outdoor activities. Outside working conditions include potential exposure to extreme high temperatures, dry and dusty conditions. Required PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and Lifts and carries all types of working materials and equipment of the trade depending on the assignment hearing protective devices. May handle materials and equipment that weighs over 50 pounds or more.

Provide OM&R for HVAC/R systems and ICS base wide. Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

• Shall perform P.M. scheduled maintenance IAW manufacturer’s specifications and applicable codes and regulations.
• Shall operate a chemical water treatment program for all closed-loop HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, such as in a chilled water system.
• Shall operate a comprehensive Refrigerant Recovery Program to ensure the proper handling, containment, and management of refrigerants in compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and best practices.
• Shall maintain and adhere to applicable technical orders and good commercial practices for all maintenance actions to include: requesting parts, receiving parts, installing, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing Chiller equipment.
• Shall provide written reports after the completions of all inspections, maintenance, repairs, tests, and certifications of each system or component.
• Responsible for following a comprehensive quality and safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
• Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
• Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment, and tools).
• Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other requirements:

• Work will be primarily indoors but may be outdoors to support various events.
• Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.
• Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

• Shall provide documentation (certificate, diploma, etc.) proving personnel attendance of in-residence training for HVAC/R systems.
• Shall provide an EPA 608 Universal Certification (Core, small appliances (Type I), high-pressure appliances (Type II), and low-pressure appliances (Type III)) is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in industrial chilled water systems and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively during course of instruction.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in Computer Room Air Conditioning Systems (CRAC) and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively during course of instruction.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport.
• Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and able to drive with a manual transmission.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge.
• Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
• Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear.

- Perform Preventive, Corrective, Predictive and Breakdown maintenances and rectification to all the mechanical systems and equipment inside the plants, buildings and HEX’s.
- Check and maintain the existing mechanical installations and provide the complete installation of new systems programme, whenever required. Monitor and update the chillers and HVAC system spare parts.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, diagnose and overhaul the mechanical side of the Centrifugal Chillers, FCUs, AHU’s, FAHU’s, Exhaust fans, Ventilation systems, Pressurization Fans, Piping Installations, Filters, Strainers, Valves, PHE and other Mechanical Systems.
- Supervise and execute the layouts and technical drawings of the HVAC layouts and other mechanical diagrams
- Generate technical layouts and technical reports
