In this role you will lead the Health and Safety Team,
- Support management and all levels of staff with advice and guidance on matters relating to OHS and work to provide solutions and resolve problems.
- Develop and implement Health and Safety best practices, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation.
- Work closely with Qatar Airways Corporate Safety to ensure policies and directives are followed.

About you
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum of 8 years of job-related experience.
- Diploma or Certificate in Health and Safety Management - NEBOSH
- Management experience in an Aircraft Manufacturing/ Maintenance environment - preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in an engineering environment
- Health & Safety instructor or training experience
- Experience in managing fire life safety and fire prevention.
- Certified Lead Auditor in ISO 45001.
- Managing a Occupational Health and Safety team within the Technical Group

Job Summary:
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet regulatory standards and ensure the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors within the Department / organization. - Provide ideas and suggestions in developing and communicating the yearly Health, Safety and Wellness promotions/communications.

- Coordinate the team of safety officers by providing direction and hands on approach to oversight of operational activities.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robustness of emergency response plans, high quality accident investigation reports, Risk assessments and operational procedures in line with IATA, IGOM and best industry practices.
- Contribute to continued development and achieving Safety Performance Indicators (SPI) by identifying and mitigating potential risk and highlighting areas for improvement based on trend analysis.
- Actively lead the team in promoting just culture across all areas of the organization by offering advice to staff members of the management team, facilitating fair review of the accountability post incident.
- Stay abreast of relevant local and international regulations to ensure recency in emerging safety best practices and legislation.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
