Overview:
We are seeking to hire a QC Inspector for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role; GCC experience is preferred.
Fluency in English is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the client’s management system relevant to your function.
- Ensure safety for yourself and others, actively participating in all safety matters during construction.
- Prevent environmental pollution related to the project.
- Coordinate inspection and testing requirements on behalf of the client.
- Familiarize yourself with project and discipline-specific inspection documentation to understand contract requirements.
- Be acquainted with international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., QCS, ACI, AISC).
- Apply quality inspection procedures on construction activities, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure inspection, testing, surveillance, and survey documentation meets the Project Quality Plan, ITPs, and project requirements.
- Complete forms and prepare reports on inspections and tests for record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, third parties, and end users.
- Verify calibration records of measurement and testing equipment.
- Assist in developing quality documentation such as method statements, work procedures, and inspection/test plans.
- Help identify problems and non-conformances, proposing corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise with Field Supervisors and Contractors to coordinate construction testing.
- Assist Quality Engineers in inspecting and reviewing quality documents related to various construction activities.
- Monitor the implementation of quality procedures and QA/QC activities.
- Ensure all civil activities adhere to project requirements, with proper testing and documentation.
- Witness site and laboratory tests related to civil works.
- Check materials and equipment against specifications and certificates.
- Reject non-compliant materials and conduct random dimensional checks.
- Follow up on corrective actions for non-conformances.
- Monitor trends in non-compliance and provide feedback on contractor performance.
- Initiate surveillance and NCRs for approval.
Requirements:
- Civil, Structural, or Architecture degree/diploma with experience in quality control in multidisciplinary construction environments.
- Preferably with formal QC training and membership in recognized professional bodies.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role; GCC experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of QC practices and testing related to Oil & Gas, Tank Farms, Pipelines, or Petrochemical projects.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors and colleagues in multicultural settings.

Primary Functions:
- Determine conformity of material received to customer specification and relevant code/standard through independent inspection and tests in accordance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP). Identify nonconformity for
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assure material received in accordance with the PO, ITP, and Technical Specification, Codes / Material standards to determine conformity. All inspection results need to be documented on warehouse checklist and if nonconformity exists, suitable documentation (OS&D, NCR) shall be issued to establish corrective and preventive action.
- Perform receiving inspections such as visual, dimensional, verification of markings, review of Material Test Certificates / Inspection Release Notes in accordance with project specifications, codes / material standard and scope of work as noted in the PO and ITPs.
- Provide interpretation of applicable code/material standards and customer requirements. Any deviation, clarification and waivers deemed necessary shall be notified to the Senior Quality Inspector - Materials for generating change management process such as Site Query, Technical Query, Technical deviation, waivers etc.,
- Identify any additional testing requirement and arrange/coordinate with approved testing laboratories for testing with PMT approval. Participate in witnessing the lab testing as and when required.
- Coordinate / Interface with Warehouse, Purchasing, PMT, Operations, Certifying Authority, Client, and subcontractor assuring conformity to project specifications.
- Liaise with customer representatives ensuring product conformity and stage release for each activity denoted in the PO/ITP.
- Liaise with PMT/Buyers and Expeditors for quick resolution of OS&D. Attend OS&D meetings for the assigned project.
- Attend Joint Equipment Inspection as per project requirements.
- Visit vendor premises and conduct vendor inspections as and when required, as per PO/ITP.
- Exercise proactive approach in prevention of a technical problem by interaction with Purchasing, Engineers, and Management personnel.
- Conduct routine internal audits to assess the effectiveness of quality system outlined in the PQP/ITP.
- Participate in Toolbox Talks conducted in Warehouse to highlight the quality requirements and non- conformances noted during inspection.
- Conduct Quality Walkthroughs to ensure proper material storage and preservation.
- Notify all quality related concerns to the Senior Quality Inspector - Materials on regular basis.
- Liaise with Buyers to ensure Mill authenticity of materials received from Stockiest.
- Carry out advance MTC review (Supplier Materials Details) of stockiest materials to avoid OS&Ds after material receiving.

- Experiences and knowledge in QA/QC, Inspection and Testing activities in Fabrication, Manufacturing and Construction in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industries is essential.
