As a Testing & Commissioning Engineer at Avanceon, your responsibilities will entail:
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues, optimize system performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular system maintenance, including upgrades, backups, and configuration activities.
- Provide training and support to operations teams on the proper use and maintenance of automation systems.
- Document all processes, configurations, and changes related to automation systems.
- Preparation of progress and root cause analysis reports.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years working in the field of automation as PLC/RTU Programmer and commissioning, preferably on Water and Wastewater projects, Oil & Gas, and Infrastructures.
- Experience in working with various PLC platforms and RTUs like Schneider M580, Rockwell Control & Compact Logix, Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500, PCS-7, WinCC SCADA, WinCC OA SCADA, and TBOX RTU.
- Experience in working with open communication protocols used in automation like Modbus Serial, Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, OPC, MQTT, DNP3, etc.
- Familiarity with control panel wiring and instrumentation.
- Ability to read documents and drawings related to control systems i.e., P&IDs, layouts, Control Panel Drawings, and able to troubleshoot wiring issues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- UPDA holder.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Preference for an international driving license.

We are seeking to recruit a Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Manager to work as part of the MEP and construction team on site.
As the T&C Manager, your duties will include:
- Producing testing and commissioning strategy plans, forms, procedures, manuals, and project close-out documents.
- Formulating commissioning schedules.
- Overseeing installation and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Collaborating with client consultants and design teams.
- Working closely with the MEP teams.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Current GCC experience.
- Experience working as a T&C Manager, Testing & Commissioning Engineer, or in a similar capacity.
- Experience working for a main contractor on building projects.

Job Details:
- Engineers shall perform isolations and restorations for circuits and equipment according to switching programs and restore all supply after completion.
- Engineers shall complete all required site forms for substation, transformers, switchgear, and MV/LV panels, covering operation, monitoring, preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Engineers shall have experience in testing and commissioning associated with HV substations, including work in national and distribution control centers for conducting end-to-end testing of new substations. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in maintenance, testing, and protection schemes is required. Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Engineers shall contribute to achieving electrical effectiveness and service quality, implementing switching operations and maintenance programs for 11kV and 0.415kV substation equipment.
- Engineers shall be able to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently.
- Engineers shall be able to troubleshoot communication issues with SCADA systems.
- Engineers shall develop written test procedures for operations, monitoring, preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
- Engineers shall develop relay testing procedures prior to performing relay testing.
- Engineers shall lead investigations of electrical issues, including root cause analysis as needed.
