Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the commissioning of complex electrical systems and ensuring that all components function optimally. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, project management, and hands-on experience with various engineering tools and technologies. The Commissioning Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Develop and execute project schedules, coordinating with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning process.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation for designing and reviewing schematics and layouts.
- Collaborate with design engineers to integrate FPGA, SoC, and PCB technologies into projects.
- Implement signal processing techniques and firmware solutions using programming languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB.
- Engage in debugging processes for programmable logic controllers and other electronic components.
- Apply mechanical knowledge in conjunction with electrical systems to optimize system design.
- Maintain documentation of all commissioning activities, including test results and compliance reports.
Experience
- Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in Kahramaa High Voltage Substation projects.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering or a related field with a focus on commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing practices, surface mount technology, and vision inspection systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in using tools such as Ohmmeters for testing electrical components.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Perl) for automation tasks is a plus.
- Knowledge of quantum engineering principles is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed root cause analysis on complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with soldering techniques and assembly of electronic components. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement while contributing to innovative engineering solutions.
