Job Description

Job Summary The Associate Legal Counsel supports the Legal Counsels in monitoring all legal activities of the Group to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company charters. The role involves developing, maintaining, and disseminating legal information (e.g., cases, statutes, regulations) to support the legal team and ensure staff knowledge remains current. Job Responsibilities Prepare shareholder agreements, Articles of Association, Partnership Deeds, joint venture agreements, PPP documents, etc. Participate with departments in negotiating contracts and agreements, and in claims negotiations to reach amicable settlements; review various tender documents. Contribute ideas to support efficient departmental structure and resource allocation for smooth operations. Stay updated on laws and regulations of Qatar and GCC countries; advise stakeholders on the impacts of new laws and regulations. Ensure legal compliance of the company's operations with applicable laws and regulations. Proactively promote legal and compliance awareness among staff regarding relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Liaise with shareholders, law firms, and governmental bodies on organizational matters. Prepare periodic reports on departmental activities. Conduct investigations related to employee violations and recommend disciplinary actions. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies, systems, and procedures, identifying areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with HSE, QM policies, and environmental standards to guarantee safety and quality. Identify and assess risks in contracts and agreements. Job Knowledge & Skills Ability to understand business transactions and determine appropriate legal treatment. Excellent drafting, negotiating, and organizational skills. Quick analysis of complex legal issues. Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts. Experience handling corporate matters and legal/governance issues. Proven experience in the Middle East, negotiating with private and government clients. Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines. ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is required. Job Experience At least 8 years of total experience, with 5 years relevant experience, and GCC experience is a plus. You will be at the forefront of driving us into a next-generation consumer insights business focusing on how we leverage passive measurement and cutting-edge analytics.

Lead a portfolio of existing clients. Provide thought leadership consultancy service to clients and identify new opportunities for NielsenIQ by developing Customized Research business.

You will be working with Qatar’s biggest and best manufacturers, retailers, and service providers to implement our ‘experience’ strategy.

You will work across brand, customer experience, and shopper to get a full 360° view of the consumer with a focus on analytics that will show you the future instead of looking in the rear-view mirror.

Responsibilities

  • Leading our team of Consumer Insights experts for our Qatar market with a clear grasp of business issues and business development skills.
  • Identifying and driving new business to answer clients' business needs.

Job Requirements


  • 4+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance and corporate tax disputes resolution in a reputable tax consultancy firm (preferably Big4) or similar organization.
  • A professional (tax or accounting) qualification is required (e.g. ACA, CTA, ADIT, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Language – Fluency in written and spoken English. Arabic will be a plus.

PwC’s existing team has extensive experience working with the Tax Authority in Qatar, with a thorough understanding of the tax audit approach, tax assessment methodology and penalty regime application.

Our team helps clients through the various interactions with the Tax Authority, from the preliminary stages of responding to the inquiries during a tax audit and up to the objection / appeal stages. In addition, the team is involved in assisting clients in meeting their tax compliance obligations in Qatar, including filing tax returns based on audited financial statements.

You will support our clients with all aspects of audit readiness, voluntary disclosure and clarifications requests, tax compliance support, assistance during tax audit and formalities of drafting and submitting objections and appeal letters to the relevant authorities in Qatar.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance and corporate tax disputes resolution in a reputable tax consultancy firm (preferably Big4) or similar organization.
  • A professional (tax or accounting) qualification is required (e.g. ACA, CTA, ADIT, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Language – Fluency in written and spoken English. Arabic will be a plus.

  • Understanding of the Qatar tax administrative process, tax legislation, and application of tax legislation in different scenarios.
  • The role will involve you dealing with all tax inquiries and investigations from the early-stage introduction to the settlement of the tax dispute. Supporting clients to proactively manage their tax controversy in the most efficient manner and guide them through complex tax audits conducted until the tax audit closure.
  • Assist clients in preparation of tax returns, reviewing financial data, and preparing the schedules required to be submitted along with the tax return to the Tax Authority in Qatar.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles for their application in tax compliance and tax controversy work.

  • Advise on information / documentation preparation and review document for onward submission to the Tax Authority.

A career in our Middle East Tax practice, based in Doha, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients in managing and resolving tax disputes with the Tax Authority in Qatar and complying with their tax obligations in Qatar. PwC’s existing team has extensive experience working with the Tax Authority in Qatar, with a thorough understanding of the tax audit approach, tax assessment methodology and penalty regime application. Our team helps clients through the various interactions with the Tax Authority, from the preliminary stages of responding to the inquiries during a tax audit and up to the objection / appeal stages. In addition, the team is involved in assisting clients in meeting their tax compliance obligations in Qatar, including filing tax returns based on audited financial statements. You will support our clients with all aspects of audit readiness, voluntary disclosure and clarifications requests, tax compliance support, assistance during tax audit and formalities of drafting and submitting objections and appeal letters to the relevant authorities in Qatar. Job Requirements 4+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance and corporate tax disputes resolution in a reputable tax consultancy firm (preferably Big4) or similar organization. A professional (tax or accounting) qualification is required (e.g. ACA, CTA, ADIT, ACCA, CPA or equivalent). Language – Fluency in written and spoken English. Arabic will be a plus. Role Main Responsibilities The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate professional experience and / or a proven record of success with regards to the following : Understanding of the Qatar tax administrative process, tax legislation, and application of tax legislation in different scenarios. The role will involve you dealing with all tax inquiries and investigations from the early-stage introduction to the settlement of the tax dispute. Supporting clients to proactively manage their tax controversy in the most efficient manner and guide them through complex tax audits conducted until the tax audit closure. Assist clients in preparation of tax returns, reviewing financial data, and preparing the schedules required to be submitted along with the tax return to the Tax Authority in Qatar. Excellent understanding of accounting principles for their application in tax compliance and tax controversy work. Manage the tax audits / investigations process through a proactive role to mitigate tax risks of the client and advising the clients on tax issues relating to the tax audits / investigations and their implications. Advise on information / documentation preparation and review document for onward submission to the Tax Authority. Assisting clients throughout the tax objection / appeal process from preparing letters for various authorities in Qatar and attending relevant meetings to present the case (where applicable). Tax legislation reviews in relation to the issues raised by Tax Authority. Providing high quality service deliverables while maintaining budgetary and time constraints and working well under pressure.
