Early Career Trainee - Manufacturing Engineer

The Early Career Traineeship is designed for fresh graduates where Baker Hughes will train fresh talent who meet the required criteria to perform their traineeship in a specific business. The traineeship duration is 6 - 12 months and will develop your technical knowledge and soft skills and provide on the job learning and exposure.

• Creation of Work instructions
• Creation & issuing of the repair workorders in Oracle system for inspection and repair.
• Preparation of Inspection and completion reports for each job orders.
• Standardization of inspection & repair routings
• Work closely with operation team to improve the repair process
• Regularly update shop routings and relevant forms
• Regular Uploading of reports in oracle system and update job status
• Drive continuous process improvement using initiatives.
• Support process troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

• Have a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering from an accredited university
• Legal right to work without restrictions or company sponsorship in Qatar.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent)
• Graduated from your Bachelors degree within the last 24 months.
• Be a Qatari National and able to travel internationally.

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

1. Understand, document and improve the current working processes across functions (Core and Support functions) in detail.

3. Reengineer the identified processes and suggest efficient working procedures that satisfy the organization’s business goals, objectives, quality culture and strategy.
4. Perform continuous studies and research to improve the business process and give recommendations to top management regarding the most suitable methodologies.
5. Lead process owners and stakeholders through the business process improvement process.
6. Perform effective change management to ensure sustainability of changes.

Essential attributes include:

1. Degree qualification in Commerce or comparable with Master’s Degree from a recognized institution being highly regarded.
2. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in business process re-engineering and methodologies is required, with experience in Government and GCC being highly desirable.
3. Ability to map processes including identifying critical path and areas to improve within the processes.
4. Ability to undertake sensitivity analysis for the existing processes.
5. Experience and knowledge in Quality Management tools (TQM, EFQM).
6. Experience in Construction industry with focus on Public Works or Utility services.
7. Strong knowledge in business processing tools such as VISIO or QPR is a plus and other BPR software.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
9. Problem solver with out of the box thinking.
10. Exposure to statistical tools for analysing processes is desirable.
11. Lean or Six Sigma training and implementation experience is desirable.
12. Ability to work across multi-functional teams to deliver quality on time and in a collaborative environment.
13. Arabic language fluency is desirable.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily production operations of NPK fertilizer lines (mixing, granulation or dissolution, packaging).
• Monitor raw materials (urea, phosphate, potassium, micronutrients) and ensure compliance with specifications before processing.
• Control operating parameters (temperature, humidity, mixing time, feed rate) to ensure process stability.
• Ensure final product quality by coordinating with QC and conducting periodic tests.
• Prepare production reports (quantities, raw material consumption, waste ratios, downtime).
• Propose solutions to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize energy use.
• Supervise technical staff (operators, technicians), assign tasks, and monitor performance. Coordinate with management regarding maintenance, raw materials, and delivery schedules.
• Apply HSE standards and enforce safety procedures to protect personnel and equipment. Contribute to production planning and ensure alignment with factory strategy and goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Previous hands-on experience in fertilizer plants (especially NPK or compound fertilizers). Strong knowledge of chemical reactions relevant to fertilizers.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment such as mixers, granulation units, and packaging lines.
• Proficiency in preparing technical reports and analysis.
• Commitment to teamwork and discipline.
