Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Coastal Engineering
- (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in marine infrastructure.
- At least 5 years on PMCM/PMC or client-representative teams.
- GCC project experience on marinas, quay walls, revetments, dredging, jetties, or
- Breakwater.
- Involvement in projects where marine assets integrate with urban or tourism-based
- Development.
Skills and Expertise:
- Reviewing marine structure design reports, hydrographic survey data, and shoreline
- protection methods.
- Assessing wave impacts, tidal flows, and sediment transport for marina layouts and
- waterfront assets.
- Overseeing coastal engineering reviews, marine piling plans, dredging strategies,
- and scour protection.
- Supporting marina operations interface (floating docks, gangways, utilities) and
- coastal construction sequencing.
- Modeling software such as MIKE21, Delft3D, and design tools like AutoCAD Civil
- 3D.
- Reviewing compliance with navigational safety, berth spacing, and environmental
- Considerations.
- Interfaces with master planners, infrastructure teams, environmental consultants, and
- marine contractors.
Preferred Certifications:
- UPDA Grade A (Qatar).
- Member of IMarEST, PIANC, or equivalent maritime body.
- Knowledge of MOT and MOECC marine permitting requirements.

Senior Project Engineer - Marine
JOB PURPOSE
This role supports the Head of Section in managing marine engineering activities related to the design, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of marine works within Major Projects, ensuring alignment with the Company's strategy, commitments, and goals.
The position provides specialized technical guidance in marine engineering, including problem-solving, decision-making, and analysis of marine infrastructure and facilities, applying innovative and analytical techniques to achieve Project objectives. The role-holder is also responsible for promoting, adhering to, and ensuring compliance with QAFCO's Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Energy, and Quality systems and standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Marine Engineering Design & Technical Management
Lead the review, coordination, and integration of marine engineering deliverables (jetties, quay walls, revetments, breakwaters, dredging, marine pipelines).
• Review and accept technical specifications for all marine systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with Project specifications and international standards (API, BS, DNV, PIANC).
• Coordinate with EPCC Contractor and Subcontractor (design consultants) to resolve technical queries and ensure timely issuance of Issued-for-Construction (IFC) documents.
• Review and validate design calculations, drawings, and specifications for constructability, operability, and maintainability.
. Procurement, Bid Evaluation & Subcontractor Documentation
Participate in the review and technical evaluation of bids for marine works and equipment, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
Review the preparation of Purchase Orders by EPCC Contractor for marine scope, providing technical input and clarifications as needed.
Review and accept Subcontractor documentation, including method statements, fabrication drawings, and quality plans, ensuring compliance with contract and project standards.
Interface & Multidisciplinary Coordination
Act as the focal point for marine engineering interfaces with civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and product handling systems.
Ensure alignment of marine infrastructure with ammonia and urea loading systems, utilities, and onshore facilities.
Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of marine systems into the overall plant infrastructure.
Fabrication, Inspection & Expediting
Oversee fabrication activities for marine structures and equipment at vendor and subcontractor facilities.
Participate in inspections as per Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), including factory acceptance tests, welding inspections, and coating checks.
Monitor and expedite fabrication and delivery activities in line with the project expediting plan.
Profile
Ideally, you should hold a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years on major projects.
Experience in Marine Engineering Design and Technical Management is essential.
You should also possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a good level of computer literacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
