Mission.
- Lead the Materials Engineering activities relevant to Corrosion and Material Selection, Metallurgy and Welding, Piping Material definition, Coating and Insulation and Cathodic Protection Systems, to optimize the performance of the main metallic and non-metallic materials used in onshore plants, offshore and floaters topside facilities and pipelines related to the Oil and Gas industry, Refinery processes, Urea and Ammonia plants in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time, schedule and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow
- Contribute to the capitalisation of Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies through continuos improvement and best practices
- Implement the Company guidelines and KPI monitoring within the Project
- For Cathodic Protection systems, organize the work of personnel assigned to site operations
Tasks.
- Ensure the execution of the engineering activities within own area of responsibility, works following the TM guidelines,cooperates with the other Project positions and ensures the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements.
Tasks Include
A - Know How, Research and Development Technology and Commercial Support
Provide up to date information and support to technical, commercial and field depts. for developing sound engineering practices, specifications and procedures in the field of competence
Ensure that all activities performed in the field of competence are carried out following latest technical and scientific developments
B -Feasibility Phase
Provide technical support to other Project positions for specialist aspects
C - Bidding phase/Commercial proposal
Analyse and understand Tender documentation
Define Discipline list of activities and deliverables and coordinate activities in accordance with Project schedule
Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted
Implement bidding methodologies, design criterias and guidelines
Define and issue Request for quotation for not estimated in-house items
Coordinate material quantities and weight estimation
Prepare engineering manhour and material cost estimations
Support the Proposal Manager during technical clarification meetings with the Client
D - Project Execution and Operational Phase
Ensure the achievement of the assigned goal and the fulfillment of the Project quality and contractual requirements. Take the necessary corrective actions within the Discipline Project Team to meet the assigned goal. Report to the TM for more extensive problems
Define list of activities and deliverables, setup time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractualrequirements
Ensure Discipline Project progress, monitor and control manhour consumption
Prepare technical annexes for engineering activities to be subcontracted
Ensure monitoring/reporting to PM of the Discipline budget costs
Ensure proper Discipline workflow, interfaces, quality checks and approval of all Discipline Project documents, including Vendor ones
Track and report to TM Discipline scope of work changes updating manhour and cost estimates
Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction
Support PM in technical interfacing with the Client (according to TM)
Define and issue Purchase Requisitions
Ensure Technical Bid Evaluations

Provide technical support for the definition of the Discipline construction inspection plan
Manage Vendor inspection test plan approval and support post order activities
E - Construction and commissioning
Support the construction team in implementing the engineering solutions at site
F - Discipline Lead activities
Verify manhour and cost estimates
Check key Project documents according to internal procedures
Support Project teams to solve non standard technical issues
Update Discipline workflows and technical standards
Support execution plan definition
Monitor Discipline Project KPIs
Participate to Vendor technical qualification and to procurement strategy definition
Guarantee the technical support to projects in the materials engineering disciplines (Material selection and Corrosion, Metallurgy and Welding, Piping Material definition, Coating and Insulation and Cathodic Protection)
Coordinate the Discipline Engineers in task force
Verify the consistency of the materials engineering documents on the specific project
Optimize technologies of the various disciplines in order to maximize the project performance

Key Responsibilities
Product & Concept Development
Translate creative ideas and directions from the Founder into clear product briefs

- Collaborate with the kitchen and operations team to ensure product feasibility, taste

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Strategy, Aviation Management or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years' experience in strategy, product research, insights and/or management consulting roles, preferably in aviation, travel, hospitality or related sectors.

This role bridges the creative vision of the Founder with procurement, kitchen, and operations to ensure all new products — from pastries to retail items — are developed with the right concept, quality, and brand alignment.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of food innovation, product presentation ,and packaging trends within the premium café and retail bakery space. They combine creativity with structured follow-up and strong supplier coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product & Concept Development
- Translate creative ideas and directions from the Founder into clear product briefs(desserts, beverages, packaging, and gifting items).
- Research global and regional F&B trends, ingredients, packaging formats, and presentation styles aligned with Fold's brand identity.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and operations team to ensure product feasibility, taste testing, and scalability.
- Develop mood boards, visual references, and product concepts for management approval.
2. Sampling & Quality Development
- Manage the sampling process end-to-end: contacting suppliers, requesting samples, following up, and evaluating quality.
- Coordinate and document food product testing and tasting sessions with the kitchen.
- Work with freelance designers or internal creative partners on packaging prototypes and visuals.
- Prepare sample evaluation reports and recommendations for final approval.
- Ensure all samples meet Fold's creative and quality standards before moving to production.
3. Supplier Coordination & Costing Support
- Liaise with the Procurement Department to obtain quotations, negotiate minimums, and align delivery timelines.
- Consolidate supplier options and maintain a development tracker of all active and completed projects.
- Ensure approved items are fully documented and ready for production handover.
4. Documentation & Handover
- Create and maintain product specification sheets, packaging details, and approved vendor lists.
- Coordinate with operations and kitchen teams to prepare new product launch checklists.
- Maintain an archive of all product and packaging developments for future replication.
5. Research & Brand Alignment
- Stay updated on market innovations (regionally and globally) across cafés, patisseries, and lifestyle F&B brands.
- Present creative proposals for seasonal launches, store concepts, and packaging refreshes.
- Ensure every developed item reflects Fold's aesthetic, story, and customer experience.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Product Development, Design, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in product or packaging development within F&B, hospitality, or retail food brands.
- Strong understanding of F&B trends, materials, and packaging innovation.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong aesthetic and creative sense aligned with Fold's modern yet culturally rooted brand.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable using design/moodboard tools (e.g.,
- Canva, PowerPoint, Notion).
