Job Description

The Role
• Plan the progression of the project drawings and come out with the schedule to follow for the projects keeping the dead line, project requirements and other things in mind. • To be able to coordinate with client and consultants for drawing approvals. • Checking/Verifying the drawings/calculations prepared, recognizing and implementing the changes to be made. • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts. • Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and location of holes. • Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements. • Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. • Implementing QHSE Management System in their area • Responsible for achieving the objectives in their area

Requirements
• 10 years experience in Construction (MEP Division) field. • Must be experienced in design of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection System. • Required computer skills include: commercial cooling/heating load calculation software, MSOffice, and Auto CAD • Experience with coordinated shop drawings of mechanical systems as well as electrical systems. • The individual will involve projects; design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for projects of various types. • Types of projects include full service hotels, condominums, spec office buildings, tenant up-fits and garden style apartments. • Good interpersonal skills are necessary • Good communication skills both written and verbal in English • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required

Tendering:

Overview JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE: Execute Mechanical maintenance and support activities in timely manner and within budget and in order to increase equipment availability and reliability. Key Accountabilities People Management
  • Supervise the activities and work performed by direct reports to ensure that it is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in line with the annual business plans, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Recommend training and development interventions for team members to build their capabilities.
  • Manage personnel and activities through proper assignment of tasks, performance appraisal, training of personnel, and provision of proper tools and equipment in order to make sure the unit has a motivated workforce with the right equipment to perform their activities.
  • Lead maintenance certification process for Technicians for maintenance to ensure that only qualified individuals are certified.

  • Review / create SMP and checklists for different components and provide input for PM plans creation / amendment as needed for the installed equipment / project added to the plant / units.
  • Coordinate with Production Department for the daily maintenance work schedule.
4.2 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Participate with Technical Department in reviewing / revising preventive maintenance plans based on historical data for continuous improvement.
  • Application of preventive maintenance programs with focus on optimizing costs
  • Provide the necessary input to planning to initiate scope of work for creating purchasing requisitions for the external service.
  • Active participation in Reliability Improvement Teams and participate in RCA / Why tree efforts when assigned to get to the right root causes and follow-up assigned action items until completion in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow up QIT follow up action items, RIT recommendations to complete in timely manner. Active participation to support Micro audits / walk downs as assigned.
  • Ensure the Maintenance / overhaul work of all Rotating equipment's (like : Pumps, Turbines, compressors, Blowers, Fans, Gear boxes, Machine alignment, Mechanical seals, etc ) with meeting safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure the Maintenance / overhaul work of all static equipment's (like : Furnaces, Boilers, Exchangers, columns, vessels, Tanks, silos, Rotary / Diverter valves, PRV's, RD's, etc ) are carried out by following the safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Routine Duties
  • Provide engineering solutions to problems and ensure that work processes are implemented as per standards and procedures.
  • Implement predictive maintenance program and assist in equipment inspection, testing and troubleshooting in order to avoid major escalations and ensure minimum disruptions caused by equipment breakdowns.
  • Manage and control the troubleshooting of problems as required, in order to avoid major escalations at any given instance.
  • Establish communication and consult with vendors to resolve significant issues, when necessary, in consultation with section / department authority.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems / procedure, equipment's, and practices in order to increase reliability and operational efficiency of equipment's.
4.3 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assign facilitator for conducting JSA's and ensure the required documents / drawings / manuals are made available as required.
  • Assign and follow-up with team to complete follow up action items from Action tracker / Meridium recommendations / Reliability improvement team recommendations / QSAFE action items in timely and professional manner.
  • Act as a DSR for contractors and ensure contractors comply with all company policies, procedures, and Standard Maintenance Procedures SMP

  • Assign team to Inspect incoming equipment spares / material in material warehouse by use of relevant technical document like OEM manual / drawing etc.

Position is contingent upon contract funding . As the Mechanical Engineer , you will be responsible for mechanical engineering services including complete design assistance, inspections, determination of HVAC loads, pump sizing/selection, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design and fire protection systems. You will work with a team of technicians, engineers, drafters, and surveyors to ensure customer satisfaction and timely project completion. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must be capable of providing mechanical design service, including determination of HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design, and exterior plumbing design. Perform all aspects of engineering analysis and design for projects from concept stages through final design and construction management including knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards. Review and analyze preliminary, interim, find project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy. Review and provide general monitoring on Host Nation funded project development work for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for real property facilities. Interpret methods and approaches in developing project calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards. Review and provide general monitoring on conceptual studies and sketches that indicate pertinent project features, material, equipment, and specifications. Monitor all project phases with appropriate managers and staff elements and shall maintain current engineering data for assigned projects. Coordinate projects with AFCENT TSG for engineers in other disciplines, operations personnel (e.g., Electric, Power Production, HVAC, Structures, Pavements and Equipment, and Utilities shops) and other U.S. Government entities to include Wing Safety, Force Protection, Security Forces, Communications, Fire Department, and Medical Group to verify safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, and all project considerations have been addressed. Monitor and report on assigned projects and review specifications and schedules. Verify construction for design compliance and assist with resolution of differences between the U.S. and Host Nation building code. Efficiently use computers/computer software including Microsoft Office, computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs (AutoCAD), and project tracking programs (Microsoft Project), GIS, and other engineering calculation software packages to solve engineering problems and facilitate work as needed. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. 4 years of experience. Experience providing designs, preparing drawings using AutoCAD 2012 or later. A licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred. Must be capable of traveling between ADAB TSG and AUAB TSG sites, as required, up to 4 times per year (4 working days, two travel days) to backfill and attend meetings. LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS: Licensed Mechanical Engineer (preferred). KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Solid technical background, good organizational skills, attention to detail, quality control, client interaction and representation. Strong communication skills - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
