Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and engineering services in Rotating Equipment Engineering for all assigned engineering projects, achieving the required technical quality of work in accordance with internal procedures, while considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE.
• Conduct Rotating Equipment Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects from initial concept definition through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
• Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work scopes and during execution of Rotating Equipment Engineering activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices.
• Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying company standards and amendments to external standards.
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers to provide timely delivery of technical services aligned with project requirements.
• Coordinate engineering designs, and develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring work scopes are comprehensive and clear.
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities; contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities for effective project delivery.
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
• Review and evaluate Contract Changes/Variations in line with approved guidelines and practices.
• Support the development of personal and team technical competencies. Participate in structured training programs for junior engineers.

Skills

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

Experience

• 10 years relevant post-graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to the Oil & Gas industry.
• Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Rotating Equipment Engineering.
• Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
• Good communication and presentation skills with fluency in English

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for:

• Operating and performing Turning, Drilling, Milling, Grinders, and Boring activities to required specifications
• Preforming Assembly & disassembly of rotors (Gas Turbine / Compressor)
• Selecting the use of right cutting / hand tools, processes, hand tools and equipment for right task
• Checking machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality
• Performing dimensional and visual inspections of rotors / GT related components
• Performing the visual dye penetrant inspection
• Completing required documentation with accurate information such as routers / job card, labor reporting, checklist, and inspection reports.
• Understanding measuring instruments, mechanical equipment and use of lifting tools.
• Preventing and breakdown maintenance of machines, balancing facility and all its auxiliaries.
• Maintaining a clean work area and contribute towards overall housekeeping efforts and other duties as needed
• Updating digital shop systems related to assigned work (Digital Work Order, Time Vouchering, Operation completion)
• Ensure the work area is compliance with HSE requirement and full compliance with BH Policies / Procedures

• Overhaul and repair of Various type of pumps,gear boxes, compressors,turbines and associated other equipment.
• Comply with workshop procedures whilst ensuring all associated documentation is accurately completed e.g. stripping / build reports and work packs, following processes and actions.
• Competent in the use of all precision measuring and dynamic balancing equipment.
• Duty of care in all HSE and following Quality procedures.
• Implementing instructions as recommended from engineering / supervision.
• Work with Workshop Supervisor to ensure accurate and on time completion of equipment repair and completing strip down reports, assembly rebuild records, and test requirements to meet departmental daily/ weekly work schedule.
• Ensure all equipment in the fitting area is maintained to a high standard where appropriate liaising with supervisor.
• Assists in overhauls turbines, pumps, valves, diesel engines, compressors and other similar mechanical equipment. Includes dismantling, repairing, reassembling and testing such equipment.

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Solid knowledge of dimensional checks and proficiency in using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, vernier callipers, dial indicators).
• Mechanical Assembly & Disassembly Expertise:
• Demonstrated ability to independently disassemble, inspect, and reassemble the following rotating equipment: - Booster pumps - Vertical and Fire Pumps - Boiler feedwater pumps - Chemical/multi-stage pumps - Centrifugal compressors - Reciprocating compressors - Gearboxes - Shaft Alignment Capabilities:
• Experienced in performing precise shaft alignment using: - Laser alignment tools
• Conventional dial gauge methods
• Specialized Rotating Equipment Tasks: - Rotor dynamic balancing - Removal, repair, and installation of mechanical seals - Installation of wear rings using expansion fit (hot method) - Disassembly of multi-stage rotors with interference fits using controlled heating - Installation of wear rings into castings using cold shrink fit (liquid nitrogen)

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role within the rotating equipment maintenance or repair field.
• Proven experience working in oil and gas environments, with a strong understanding of industry-specific safety and operational standards.
• Basic knowledge of API standards related to rotating machinery (such as pumps, compressors, turbines), with the ability to interpret and apply these standards in workshop and field operations.

Education Requirements

• ITI in Mechanical Fitters + NCVT.
