Job Description
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will assist paramedics and nurses with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care to patients. Supported by clinical staff, the EMT will use evidence-based medical practices to manage emergencies and treat injuries and illnesses promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, work well under pressure, and be committed to culturally sensitive, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 EMS response coverage, including shift rotations and on-call duties at the CARE Doha compound.
- Offer services ranging from simple patient transport to advanced life support and trauma care.
- Communicate effectively with emergency departments and ambulance services.
- Operate on-compound ambulances in response to emergencies.
- Respond quickly to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions effectively.
- Administer BLS and perform procedures like CPR, bleeding control, and AED use within scope of practice.
- Transport patients safely and comfortably to medical facilities.
- Collect patient histories and vital signs, documenting all interactions and treatments.
- Maintain and restock medical supplies and ambulance equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
- Conduct routine ambulance inspections and maintenance checks.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch and emergency personnel.
- Assist with patient loading/unloading, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance, incidents, and mileage.
- Participate in mass-casualty drills and emergency response exercises.
- Complete organizational compliance training as required.
This role may include additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Licensed at the appropriate level by a U.S. state or equivalent accrediting body.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-stress emergency situations.
- Experience on military sites as a subcontractor or contractor is preferred.
Education:
Current EMT certification or equivalent from your country of record.
Physical Demands:
- Work primarily involves responding in an ambulance.
- Prolonged sitting and standing.
- Bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Qualifications:
- Proficiency in English communication.
- Unaccompanied position.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Must relocate to Qatar and possess a valid passport.
