This role involves 24-hour accountability for clinical, operational, and budget responsibilities for all nursing services within the allocated functions. Certification and Licensure:
• Valid professional nursing license in the country of origin.
• Meets licensing requirements of the State of Qatar.
Professional Membership:
• Member of a professional nursing association (preferred).

Responsibilities

The Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect clinical care to patients. Education Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or international equivalent.
  • Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations (SANE) or Sexual Assault Forensics Examinations (SAFE) certifications are preferred.

Experience in a critical care setting (ICU, CCU, emergency room, etc.). Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Education Required: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or international equivalent. Other Special Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. This position is unaccompanied. The ability to obtain a base security clearance. Must be able to relocate to Qatar. A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of nursing courses, including medical-surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, and high-intensity neonatal care. S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. The faculty member will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees; coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area. Maintain course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the University and beyond.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s in nursing or in a related health field, preferably with a specialization in Pediatric or Mental Health Nursing. If the Master’s is not in nursing, the candidate must hold an undergraduate degree in nursing.
  • Registration as a registered nurse and in good standing with the regulatory body.

Experience

  • Experience in teaching nursing at a post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years full-time equivalent recent clinical practice experience; preference for mental health nursing experience.
  • Ability to use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences including laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
  • Ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms; strong information literacy skills.
  • Mentoring or preceptoring nursing students during practice practicums and/or eight (8) years full-time equivalent clinical nursing experience preferred.

Scholarship and Research

  • Demonstrated scholarship contributing to nursing practice, health-related knowledge, and/or health-related curriculum development and pedagogy.

Other Required Skills

  • Commitment to applied and experiential learning as a pedagogy.
  • Ability to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments using contemporary tools.
