Job DescriptionThe primary purpose of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to provide essential support and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of nurses and physicians, with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nurses and physicians, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, feeding, dressing, meal assistance and mobility.
- Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate.
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures as directed by medical staff.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and update medical records as necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of patient care areas and equipment.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff or students when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to facilitate care.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
- Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage.
- Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
