Duties and Responsibilities
OB-GYNs have numerous responsibilities. This field combines obstetrics—a special area of care that encompasses preconception care through childbirth and delivery—with gynecology, which covers all areas of women's health. They perform initial diagnoses and prescribe the best treatments possible, and they must explain complex conditions in simple terms. Other duties and responsibilities for OB-GYNs include:
- Diagnosing and treating conditions that affect women, such as certain types of cancer and conditions like menopause
- Working with pregnant patients to explain the childbirth process
- Performing routine checkups with patients
- Providing childbirth and postpartum care for new mothers

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OB/GYN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide expert medical care related to pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the female reproductive system. This role includes managing both routine and complex obstetric cases, performing gynecologic surgeries, and promoting women's health through preventive care and patient education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prenatal, antenatal, and postnatal care
- Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies
- Perform deliveries, including C-sections
- Diagnose and treat a variety of gynecological conditions
- Conduct gynecologic surgeries such as hysterectomies and cyst removals
- Perform routine screenings, including Pap smears and breast exams
- Advise patients on contraception, fertility, and menopause management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Work closely with nurses and other medical staff to ensure high-quality care
- Adhere to local health regulations and hospital policies
Requirements
- Medical degree with completion of an OB/GYN residency
- Valid license to practice (QCHP or eligibility for licensing in Qatar)
- Minimum of 2–5 years of post-specialization clinical experience
- Fluency in both Arabic and English is required
- Other nationalities will be considered an advantage
- Strong clinical and surgical skills in both obstetrics and gynecology
- Experience in managing emergencies, including obstetric complications
- Knowledge of the latest medical practices, technologies, and regulatory standards
- Proven ability to make sound medical decisions under pressur
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, team-oriented environment
- Strong documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
