Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and attend to patients' medical problems or conditions by performing comprehensive medical histories, including allergy history, past medical history, family history, physical examinations, assessments, and requesting relevant diagnostic investigations to establish accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans. Prescribe or administer medications and perform medical procedures within the scope of license or privileges issued by DHP.
- Secure patient’s written consent by thoroughly explaining the purpose and content of the consent form.
- Perform consultations, assessments, and medical/therapeutic procedures under the scope of practice and approved privileges as per the license issued by the Department of Healthcare Practitioners (DHP), Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).
- Request, analyze, interpret diagnostic tests and investigations, and provide expert views on their results to support diagnosis and treatment planning, including medication dosing and adjustments.
- Manage patient conditions through a multidisciplinary approach, including referrals to other specialists or departments as needed, ensuring holistic and patient-centered care.
- Proactively ensure patient safety by identifying potential risks, following safety policies and protocols, performing risk assessments, and reporting concerns or near misses promptly.
- Report risks to the Medical Manager, develop mitigation plans, and share accountability for their implementation and evaluation.
- Maintain high standards of professional integrity and respect in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the public.
- Explain complex medical information in simple language tailored to the patient’s understanding, considering disabilities and learning difficulties.
- Communicate competently and sensitively, establishing patient-centered relationships while respecting cultural, religious, and individual differences.
- Accurately document patient health records in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in a timely and organized manner, ensuring continuity of care and compliance with policies.
Job Requirements:
- Preferably with DHP License in Qatar
- Specialty degree in the relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years post-specialty experience
