Data Analyst - Doha, Qatar

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets and creating meaningful reports that can be used to inform business decisions. This role offers a competitive salary of 1800.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Collecting, sorting and interpreting data from various sources
• Analyzing large data sets and identifying patterns and trends
• Developing and maintaining databases for recurring reports
• Creating meaningful reports based on the analysis of the data
• Identifying problems or opportunities within the data collected
• Working closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate interpretation of results
• Suggesting changes or improvements to existing processes and procedures based on findings.

The ideal candidate must have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst in a professional environment
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access) as well as SQL databases
• Excellent analytical skills with strong knowledge in data analysis techniques and statistical methods
• Ability to think logically and evaluate different scenarios with attention to detail

Data Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Query, clean, and prepare datasets to support predictive model development.
• Perform data profiling, outlier analysis, missing value treatment, and variable selection.
• Generate statistical summaries, histograms, distributions, and correlations to support model assumptions.
• Assist in feature engineering with code (Python, SQL) based pipelines.
• Develop internal data validation and sanity checks to support model input/output reliability.

Expertise Required

• Advanced SQL and scripting for large-scale data extraction and transformation
• Strong in Python for data analysis (Pandas, matplotlib, seaborn)
• Experience using Jupyter notebooks, Git, and shared model/analytics repos
• Comfort working with transactional, behavioral, and log-based data
• Self-directed and technical; works off specifications from data science lead or product owner
• No need to present to business users or interpret commercial outcomes
• Focus on clean, efficient code, reproducibility, and high data integrity

We are seeking a Transport Research Market Specialist as part of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Qatar Branch. This role involves analyzing trends, market dynamics, and user behavior related to the transport and mobility sector. Responsibilities:

1. Analyze trends, market dynamics, and user behavior in the transport and mobility sector.
2. Conduct research, compile data, and generate insights to support transportation policies, infrastructure investments, and business strategies.
3. Perform quantitative and qualitative research on transportation trends, emerging mobility solutions, and market demands across passenger and freight sectors.
4. Design and implement surveys, focus groups, and traffic studies; analyze data using statistical tools to assess mobility patterns and user preferences.
5. Monitor and forecast demand for transport modes such as public transit, shared mobility, electric vehicles, and logistics in various contexts.
6. Collaborate with transport authorities, operators, private sector actors, and communities to gather data and validate assumptions.
7. Provide insights to support transportation policy development, investment planning, and infrastructure prioritization.

Qualifications:

• Membership in relevant professional institutions and licensure are preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in transportation market analysis, segmentation, trends, and demand forecasting, preferably with transport authorities, consultancies, or international organizations.
• Strong analytical skills and comprehensive understanding of transportation systems, user trends, and market forces.
• Familiarity with demand forecasting models, data visualization tools, and survey management.
• Knowledge of sustainable mobility, low-emission systems, and green logistics.
• Understanding of global mobility trends like MaaS, electrification, and autonomous vehicles.
• GCC experience is preferred.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, with excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, and analytical tools such as R, Python, SQL, and GIS software (e.g., VISUM, TransCAD, Emme).
• Driving license required for site visits and meetings.
