- Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
- Ensure mechanical Engineering activities are executed in alignment with Shell’s Project Delivery Roadmap and Opportunity Realization Process.
- Delivery of the Mechanical Static Equipment engineering scope for assigned projects, ensuring flawless start up of Mechanical Equipment and compliance with agreed HSSE practices and procedures as defined under the QSGTL HSSE management system.
- Act as Lead mechanical equipment focal point in the review and preparation of engineering deliverables ranging from engineering study deliverables to RFC packages, commissioning procedures, ITPs, Material Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluations, etc.
- Drive technical assurance: Assure engineering and construction of mechanical Equipment engineering discipline scope is carried out in compliance with required project standards and specifications, including DEM1 and DEM2 standards.
- Participate in engineering reviews regarding mechanical Equipment engineering discipline, witnessing of Factory Acceptance Tests, as required and participate in safety and quality audits and field reviews as required.
- Drive installation quality, working with Construction contractor and QPH Construction team and provide technical support for commissioning and/or start up of Rotating Equipment where applicable.
- To be fully familiar and up to date with latest Shell and Industry standards and ensure compliance of projects design with these latest standards. To be fully familiar with Shell TAMAP, EFAs and SPEP for mechanical equipment
- Support COMPANY in auditing construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolution of field non-conformance issues as required.
- Ensure design meets requirements of Shell’s HSSE Framework.
- Design and develop, as required, innovative technical approaches to the broader process engineering issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives (fit for purpose)
- Provide (one stop shop) mechanical engineering support and delivery for QPH projects.
- Accountability for process engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support including provision of senior engineering expertise.
- Proactively working with the Engineering Manager to keProjects on track and achieve Top Quartile (TQ) performance for the portfolio.
- Drive and delivery of an ever increasing effectiveness and efficiency in producing project designs, through Elimination, Simplification, Standardisation and Automation balanced against the need for Top Quartile FEL in, and quality designs for the Qatar Project Delivery Hub projects.
- Lead Management of Repeated Failures for respective discipline
Skills / Qualifications:
- BSc., University in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related static mechanical Design and Engineering
- Performs as a professional mechanical engineer for projects and plant modifications from Front End Development through execution / commissioning and start up. Past work experience should entail but not limited to the following:
- Technical support for operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Testing, installation, commissioning and start up of mechanical equipment
- Design, selection and specification of mechanical equipment
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery as a Umbrella Contract Lead mechanical engineer function in a multidiscipline Workforce
- Experience in the Middle East, knowledge of GTL and LNG are an advantage, as is front-end and commissioning experience and execution.
- Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.
- Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.
- Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to HSSE Leadership and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phases

To set targets of production for each of those directly reporting to him, targets for Foremen.
To be able to communicate supports services in the yard, rigging, scaffolding, warehouse, facility, QC & NDT.
Provide written instruction where necessary to those directly reporting to him.
Drive the team to achieve progress, productivity, safety and quality.
Know and understand the estimated man-hours on the work packs, maintain man-hours booking within estimate and provide weekly progress to production engineers.
Take actions where standards and targets are not met.
Where necessary refer quality / progress/ productivity issue to his superintendent and provide recommendation for improvement
Address any issue of poor quality/ productivity and take action where appropriate.
Report area of poor performance and provide recommendation for improvement.
Provide accurate feedback to Superintendent.
Ensure CIR (Computer Input Request) submitted and RFI (Request for Inspection) are raised on timely manner.
Conduct TBT with crew, conduct safety walkthrough and address any issue of safety, check HIT process.
Review TRA with his foremen when require and ensure it is discussed with his crew.
Maintain good housekeeping on his work area. Promote BBSM process and be responsible for his team’s safety.
Lead by example and make sure company policies and procedures are followed.
Other Expectations:
Promote implementation of QHSES initiatives and drive achieving objectives.

You will provide piping engineering services to Worley, and its Customers and may provide technical support and supervision within the piping team.
