What You'll Be Doing

• The Planning Engineer will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team with respect to all planning and scheduling issues and progress of the works. The incumbent will be responsible for the review and approval of the submitted work program by the contractor and he will monitor the work progress during the construction and reports to the Planning Manager.
• He will participate and coordinate with the contractor to produce recovery work programs in case of delays and he will participate in assessment and analysis of time related claims.
• Review, check and evaluate the Contractor's time schedule of works.
• Following the review, recommend, acceptance / rejection of the Contractor's time schedule to Planning Manager for forwarding the recommendation to the Engineer (PMC) and Client for program acceptance.
• Monitor the work progress, compare to the accepted program of work and report to the Planning Manager.
• Coordinate with the Planning Engineers of Client/PMC and the Contractor on all scheduling issues and progress.
• Prepare weekly, monthly (or any period agreed with the Engineer (PMC) / Client) reports about the status of construction progress.
• Evaluate, and forecast project progress and performance against the established accepted / amended schedule with critical milestones.
• Assess the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages.
• Inform the Planning Manager (for informing PMC / Client) of any potential delays in the project completion or the milestones.
• Analyse, assess and participate in discussions about any suggested recovery program by the Contractor to mitigate any delays.
• Participate in the assessment and analysis of time related claims by the contractor.
• Assist the Planning Manager in progress validation, monitoring KPI's & Construction commodities, and preparation of project status reports.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• BSc degree preferably in Civil Engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years of directly related experience in planning and scheduling both engineering and construction activities and a minimum of 2 years GCC experience.
• Experience on design and construction of large scale infrastructure, building projects including high rise towers.
• Proficiency in scheduling software including Primavera P6.2, Claim Digger, schedule Analyser and other presentation software like MS office, Visio, Crystal Reports, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
• Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project.
• Must have good command of English both written and spoken, good communication and presentation skills.

• Act as focal, in liaison with Warehouse personnel, to ensure continuous flow of materials / equipment for repair / refurbishment and return to stock / offshore.
• Liaise with Maintenance stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient management of materials.
• Interface with the Campaign / Shutdown & Base Operation Material Coordinators to ensure efficient tracking / bagging and tagging of materials.
• Interface with Warehouse personnel to ensure robust material management and storage / preservation of Maintenance related materials.
• Interface with Warehouse personnel / Contactors to ensure adequate management, refurbishment / replenishment and storage of Special Tooling, Turbine Kits etc.
• Support the repair process for Maintenace related equipment, which may include visits to local vendor workshops and warehouses.
• Act as focal for QA / QC material status / issues in liaison with the Technical Materials Administrator (TADM).
• Participate, as appropriate, in Maintenance material management / Warehouse audits.

• Initiate for re-certification, re-calibration, test for specific equipment (pressure gauges, valves) by Third party/Vendor

Qualifications:

• Civil or Architectural Engineer with a Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in Civil/Architectural Engineering (Urban Planning or Design).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning, national policy, and economic feasibility studies for rail systems, preferably in GCC countries.

Job Description:

• Prepare strategic plans for rail requirements in line with the country's urban and population growth.
• Manage rail projects and coordinate with Qatar Rail for local and regional implementation according to schedule and budget.
• Liaise effectively with key stakeholders including government agencies and prepare monthly technical reports.

Workforce Management Professional with experience in handling workforce planning initiative thoroughly undertaking studies of the organization structures and design to achieve business goals and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and update project schedules using tools such as

• Prepare baseline programs and recovery schedules when required.
