Job Summary:

We are searching for a highly qualified Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing facility responsible for

overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of industrial equipment and processes,

including mixers, blenders, and associated systems. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations

by implementing preventive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting equipment issues, and driving

continuous process improvement to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the manufacturing operations team of the entire plant for implementation of operational strategies, monitor daily progress and take corrective actions for further improvement.
  • Oversee the daily operation of industrial machines such as blenders, mixers, conveyors, and other process equipment.
  • Ensure equipment functions efficiently and safely in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze production workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Implement process optimization strategies to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Implementation of safety standards through implementation of process, equipment and behavioral safety protocols in line with the company regulations and local legislations to ensure a safer working place.
  • Implement autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance for best utilization of equipment and resources leading to achieving minimal machine breakdown.
  • Develop and continuously optimize the operational procurement program including annual strategy planning cycle in line with business planning cycle
  • Ensure all maintenance and operational activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to align maintenance and operational goals.
  • Assist in planning production schedules based on equipment availability and capacity.
  • Ensure teams understand safety protocols, machine operations, and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Use data from ERP systems for tracking production data, maintenance schedules, inventory, and reporting.

Skills

Qualifications:

Academic Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree in management or industrial operations is considered an advantage.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing or chemical processing, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a similar environment.

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, high level of integrity and professionalism, and strong communication skills in both English and Arabic.

Leadership and Management:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary teams. Proven track record in managing plant operations, improving productivity, and implementing best practices in quality and safety.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Deep understanding of regulatory standards, quality management systems, and industrial safety protocols.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment (including blenders/mixers and related systems), process optimization, and maintenance management. Familiarity with industrial management systems (ERP, SAP, etc.) is highly desirable.

Job Purpose

The role is responsible to support the Head of Plant Productivity in carrying out the following technical services:

  • Provide daily support to Operations about Production Budgeting, Control and Optimization, Energy, Catalyst and Chemicals Management.
  • Support the Analysis of Production Loss Events and the Root Cause Analysis work processes.

The ultimate objective is to enable Operations to avoid reoccurrence of production losses and maximize production profit. The role coordinates with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations, including liaison with Plants, Stores, Purchase, Laboratory, and Environmental sections. The position also emphasizes operational problem solving through analytical and innovative approaches, providing technical support to the production department.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitoring plant performance (process parameters, catalyst/equipment/energy performance, environmental emissions) and supporting production loss accounting.
  • Problem analysis & troubleshooting.
  • Engineering activities such as proposing new projects, reviewing ongoing modifications, and participating in MOC and HAZOP studies.
  • Supporting updates of engineering documents like P&ID, trip logics, and operating procedures.
  • Assisting in preparing production, catalyst, and chemicals budgeting.
  • Participating in major shutdown activities.
  • Performing on-call duties and emergency response as a relief team member.
  • Ensuring systematic liaison with HSEQ on environmental reporting, GHG accounting, LDAR monitoring, and sustainability compliance.
  • Managing the Production Information Management System (PIMS) and ensuring system reliability.
  • Reporting on production metrics, budget variances, KPIs, and other operational reports.
  • Developing and implementing SAP Production Planning modules and interfaces.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
  • At least 7 years of relevant plant operations experience in the fertilizer, petrochemicals, or oil & gas industry.
  • Experience with chemical engineering calculations and tools like Aspen Plus/Hysys, HTFS/HTRI.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CSWIP 3.2.2 Senior Welding Inspector or AWS-SCWI certification.
  • Professional certification as NDT Level-II in PT, MT, UT & RT Interpretation, certified per SNT-TC-1A/CP-189 or equivalents such as PCN/ISNT.
  • Certification in BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector Grade 1/2 or NACE Level-1/2 is advantageous.

Your day-to-day:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of bottled drinking water to all outlets and guest floor pantries as per daily requirements.
  • Collect empty bottles from all outlets and guest areas.
  • Inspect returned bottles for cleanliness, damage, staining, or odor; separate any bottles that are not fit for reuse.
  • Record and report all breakages or bottle rejections for accountability and tracking.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of delivered and received bottles.
  • Assist the Water Plant Operator in the production and bottling processes when needed.
  • Assist water plant operator for monitoring and recording bottled drinking water parameters.
  • Keep the water plant area and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all local governmental regulations and IHG safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support all sustainability initiatives of the hotel, including proper recycling practices, resource efficiency, and glass bottle reuse systems.
  • Actively contribute to achieving the hotel’s Green Key Objectives, Food Safety Objectives and performance in the IHG Energy Reduction Matrix.

What we need from you:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or bottling environment preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
