We are looking for a passionate, playful, and forward-thinking
Studio Manager
to guide children through open-ended creative exploration across the different areas of our studio. In this role, you'll design and facilitate hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity, foster critical thinking, and empower children to bring bold ideas to life through art, science, storytelling, and invention. You'll be a key leader in shaping our studio's learning culture and develop programs that nurture confidence and empower young learners to think like artists, engineers, and changemakers.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Design & Facilitation
- Develop and lead engaging experiences rooted in creative exploration
- Design weekly sessions aligned with studio goals, seasonal themes, and child/ parent interests
- Prepare different activities or stations ahead of schedule, with the assistance of our team members
- Adapt activities to meet a range of ages, abilities and learning styles
- Facilitate workshops, classes, camps, and other external pop-up projects for children
- Monitor and keep track of inventories of materials needed and place orders well ahead of time
- Integrate real-world problem solving, storytelling into offerings
Studio Leadership & Culture
- Create a safe and inspiring environment where children feel confident to take risks and express ideas
- Model a curiosity and growth mindset in your teaching and interactions
- Guide children in developing their own questions, creations, and creative solutions
- Train and lead a small team of assistants and provide guidance, feedback, and support
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and joyful studio environment where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired
- Manage studio flow, transitions, and group dynamics with warmth and clarity
Environment & Materials Management
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and well-stocked studio
- Ensure safe and responsible use of tools and materials
- Observe group dynamics and provide positive guidance and behavioral support as needed
- Uphold health and safety rules
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Share feedback, ideas, and observations to help strengthen the studio's mission and impact
- Collaborate with Wonder Works team to refine studio practices
- Manage scheduling and shifts of assistants
- Mentor and support learning assistants
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
Family & Community Engagement
- Build warm, professional relationships with children and families
- Represent the studio at community events when applicable
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching or facilitating learning for children in a creative, educational, or STEAM-based environment
- Deep belief in the power of hands-on, child-led learning and creative expression
- Strong classroom or group management skills with a warm and welcoming approach
- Familiarity with explorative-based learning, Reggio-inspired or Montessori principles
- Comfort working with a variety of materials—arts & crafts, building tools, recycled materials, etc.
- Passion for nurturing creativity, confidence, and a maker mindset in children
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus

A PYP teacher should be an inspirational, passionate and adaptable educator with the ability to deliver an inquiry-based, trans-disciplinary program. He / She should be an outstanding teacher, motivator, learner and communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills, and should be capable of preparing students for international programs in a stimulating, challenging and well-organised learning environment. He / She should be able to provide professional expertise, high quality teaching and learning, make effective use of resources and ensure improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.
Requirements
Qualifications and experience .
- Qualified teacher status appropriate to the teaching duties to be undertaken.
- Experience of the IB Primary Years Programme - Early Childhood
Knowledge and Skills . He / She should :
- be aligned with the ISL values of belonging, integrity, grit and kindness.
- possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school, in particular he / she should be able to communicate effectively in English
- have a high level of understanding of current research as to how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best
- through differentiated instruction, and by using a variety of styles, be able to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
- be able to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters
- be aware of the principles of Understanding by Design and Assessment for Learning

- have a high level of awareness of current developments and research findings in the field of primary / elementary school teaching and learning
- have the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
Responsibilities.
- Implement PYP policy and strategic plans
- Liaise with the Head of Primary and PYP Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
- Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of the PYP curriculum
- Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of assessment and reporting systems
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes
- Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training / meetings
- Encourage the team spirit in the primary school and develop links with colleagues across the school
- Contribute to community service and global citizenship goals
- Contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme of the school
- Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the primary school and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions etc.
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body
Specific Targets. The successful candidate will assume this post at a crucial stage in the development of ISL Qatar. The following list gives an indication of some of the specific current matters to be addressed :
- to lead the PYP Exhibition process
- to participate in the current development of the PYP, addressing matters arising from our PYP authorisation report
- to use technology to support PYP learning, especially through use of a Virtual Learning Environment (ManageBac, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- to support the school in meeting its programme obligations for NEASC and the IB.
- to participate in development of Assessment for Learning (AFL) and Understanding by Design (UBD)
- to participate in the development of the new pastoral programmes
