**Job Overview**:
Principal Project controls specialist will be involved in cost analysis, estimate at completion forecasting, internal reporting, preparation of invoices, reporting to client etc

**Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Will be responsible for project budgets, forecasts, controls and reporting project costs
- Will also track hours expended, review project costs incurred, and calculate future costs based on labor productivity, wage rates, and risk analysis
- The role will work closely with the Project Management Team and will include interactions with the client Cost control team on a regular basis
- Leads and guides less experienced Cost Control personnel.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree
- minimum experience of 15 years, working on projects across oil and gas and/or petrochemical, construction
- Good Communication skills, team player and leader
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & word
- Experience in working with and in financial data bases like Oracle, SAP or JDE

Typical Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point with the client and any contractor Project Controllers as appropriate, to ensure costs and progress are reported accurately, ensure alignment with the project reporting requirements and timely and accurate cost and progress reporting
  • Preparation of Planning Support Package
  • Managing the overall project CTR budget and cost
  • Propose, agree and manage agreed payment plan including milestone payments.
  • Preparing and issuance of Project Invoice(s)
  • Preparation of Project Controls procedures as project requirements
  • Weekly and Monthly schedule and cost Reporting (using EVM) of planned v’s actual progress figures including forecasting
  • Monitor cost and schedule impact of achievement / non achievement of project milestones
  • Identification, monitoring, and reporting against the project critical path providing early warning to the Project Manager of any potential slippages
  • Develop and maintain project Work Breakdown Structure for specific scopes of work
  • Develop and maintain cost and planning control structures in alignment with project Work Breakdown Structure
  • Manage the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set - up and approvals
  • Responsible for the timely control and forecasting of budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the budget and schedules if applicable
  • Assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists in the Billing process and any other cost related queries
  • Assist with application of baseline and forecast installation unit rates and norms for estimating quantity change impacts
  • Supports earned value progress measurement
  • May assist with updates and changes to project quantities and reports on variances to baseline
  • Production and overall maintenance of project S - Curves and Histograms
  • Creation of the projects fully resourced, logic linked Gantt Charts within preferred planning software to the agreed project and programme requirements
  • Perform progress updates of the project Gantt charts. Includes executed changes into project schedule
  • Monitor current and assess future resource needs for the project and programme through analysis of workload at project level
  • Identify slippages, significant float erosion and recommend recovery actions
  • Coordinate development and issue project change orders / variations in accordance with contract / assignment change notifications
  • Ensure local change management process is adhered to
  • Tracking of and input into the change management system
  • Attendance at client progress meetings
  • Input to the preparation of proposal schedules and CTR packs
  • Participate and support cost and schedule risk analysis workshops / sessions
  • Ensure risk is managed and monitored at project level in line with local standards and processes
  • Ensure Project Controls processes and procedures are accurate, up to date and followed
  • Liaise with clients and ensure that projects are managed effectively to ensure delivery in a manner which meets quality, time, and budget specifications

Job Description

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the project management of strategic projects from the beginning to the end of their life cycle by monitoring and tracking tasks and activities, prioritizing actions and project plans, ensuring those are kept up to date at all times.

As part of complex projects, you will be responsible to work closely with all stakeholder to oversee the projects and to ensure progress and successful implementation.

You will act as the focal point for the VP Airline Partnerships and as well as VP Fleet Planning & Strategy, and provide administrative support at an excellent standard.

The key accountabilities for the role are:

- Lead project management team and closely work with internal and external stakeholders on relevant projects.
- Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with key partner airlines by establishing a close coordination, tracking projects and follow up to ensure that partnerships create value to Qatar Airways.
- Work closely with the respective stakeholders to support in the oversight of all projects from kick off to delivery.
- Provide assistance in budget preparation and monitoring of expenditures so that all projects are managed within the assigned budget.
- Provide technical and logístical support to VP Airline Partnerships, VP FP&S, project managers or other relevant parties involved in the projects.
- Lead the monitoring of progress of the projects and provide periodic updates to VP Airline Partnerships, VP FP&S, and Project Managers on the agreed timelines.
- Ensures proper and detailed project management documentation is in place, including projects plans, design, projects briefs, performance and development criteria, change requests, resources updates, and specifications changes and project related dependencies.
- Ensure proper presentation of business cases, project briefs and related information to relevant stakeholders by ensuring that objectives are properly documented and followed, in order to maintain project timelines and requirements.
- Coordinate to manage aircraft wet-lease project from and to Qatar Airways including steering of all internal coordination and project management as well as being the focal point to the third party airline involved.
- Manages strategic partnership and investment projects and acts as focal point of such projects on behalf of the VP Airline Partnerships and VP FP&S.
- Oversees the preparation of administration related reports and analysis, taking a lead role in setting and/or improving policies and procedures, communicating and clarifying company policies and resolving admin related cases with Finance, Contracts, Legal departments.
- Provides business documentation support, including report writing, presentation creation and spreadsheet preparation.
- Identify additional cooperation areas jointly by closely working with internal and external partners to maximize benefit to both parties.
- Conducts site visits, meets various stakeholders for project coordination to assess Project feasibility.
- Acts as first point of contact and provides key liaison with the main stakeholders within the business and externally to the Group in relation to all assigned projects.
- Continuously improve and oversee existing admin processes and information systems, to ensure streamlined and efficient processes and systems are in place to support realization of projects within VP Airline Partnerships and VP FP&S office.
- Resolves complex project/administrative problems independently but ensures that the structure, standards, processes and tools as defined by the company are in place and maintained.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum 6 years of experience with similar role, preferred airline experience
- Project Management related licenses or professional certification
- Experience of airport, airlines or governmental agencies
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Project Management field
- Managerial skills
- Excellent coaching and training skills
