We are working with our client based in Qatar to source a PROCESS ENGINEER . This is a residential contract based in Qatar.

Qualification:

• Degree in Engineering or Science with a major in Engineering
• 8 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including 4 years in a project management role

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform process engineering activities to support project execution, ensuring compliance with standards and high-quality delivery.
• Ensure activities adhere to regulatory requirements, project specifications, and approved variations.
• Resolve engineering issues and communicate with the Project Execution Team, escalating issues when necessary.
• Develop and update policies and procedures related to Project Management.
• Support external engineering teams and representatives to ensure design aligns with expectations.
• Evaluate complex tasks and provide recommendations; support multidisciplinary tasks.
• Monitor and guide FEED, EPC Contractors, and third-party services throughout project phases.

• Provide daily process engineering support necessary for all Qatargas operated facilities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.

• Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Required to contribute to multi-disciplinary tasks while providing expertise in specialised area.

• Support day-to-day process surveillance activities in compliance with QGMS ASV L3 process "Perform Plant Facilities Surveillance" for all QG assets to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production, including of preparing and issuing the surveillance report/recommendations , troubleshooting and timely escalation of threats and deviations from surveillance monitoring activities .
• Monitor the systems & processes efficiencies to help improve asset performance and provide advanced and long term engineering solutions in compliance with the existing procedures and operating manuals.
• Provide Process Engineering support to EMOCs , other process engineering studies for the assigned area and conduct the assigned EMOCs and AIR.
• Participate and contribute in FRAs, RCFAs, RS, HAZOPs, HAZID and other assessments to address process safety and reliability issues.
• Provide shutdown support to respective asset, including shutdown scoping/planning for process related activities .

• Participate in engineering call-out roster for assets to address Operations requests for after-hours process engineering support as required.
• Participate and provide input in regular Operations meetings (e.g., daily operations meetings, ALT meetings, SHE committee meetings, etc.), to address Operations inquires requiring Process Engineering Support.
• Communicate regularly with Process Engineering Lead to provide updates and highlight the key issues to ensure proper management support.
• Support preliminary analysis/design to process engineering project queries.
• Support the annual business plan assumptions data for Corporate Planning department in compliance with Annual Business Plan Assumptions Procedure and submit the required data on time manner.

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering.

• 4 years' engineering experience in an oil and gas environment.

• Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in process/operations in Refinery or Linear Alkyl Benzene plant.
• Fluent in spoken and written English language. Good personal & oral communication skills.
  
  • Proficient in Process simulation tools in Refinery or in Linear Alkyl Benzene plant.
  • Professional usage of Refinery Information System (RIS), Process Historian Data (PHD), Laboratory information system, SAP, off-site Automation software's applications and PC software, such as, Microsoft Project, Excel, Graphics/Presentation packages, Workflow charting . etc.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO17025 and ISO 14000 requirements to be able to implement the Refinery's IMS procedures.
  • Good comprehension of applicable International Standards in Refinery.
  • Analytical skills in Refinery or LAB plant economics business.
  • Presentation and communication skills, ability to draft effective written Technical documents.

• Experience in various phases of project life cycle; feasibility / concept studies, FEED, detail engineering, EPIC.
• Experience in Gas processing, gas treatment, LNG, LPG, gas compression, GTL, refinery, offshore
• Experience of leading debottlenecking and revamp studies
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Extensive knowledge of process simulation packages such as HYSYS, PROII, Flarenet
• Proficiency in PFD / P & ID & datasheet development
• Offshore experience is an advantage
• Proficiency in equipment sizing (pumps, vessels, exchangers, etc) and hydraulic calculations
• Extensive experience in pipeline modeling using Pipesim, pipeline studio, Pipephase, Pipenet is an advantage

• Extensive work experience at a senior level within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Must have design experience within the oil and gas industry, leading a team of process discipline engineers and designers
• Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the process discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Full-Time Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
