An exciting opportunity for Production Planning Engineer to work under Light Maintenance.
You will provide specialized know edge r assigned planning functions including Aircraft Maintenance Program development, detailed task card development, IT system update on engineering documents and hard-time components, work scope definition, maintenance plans preparation, control of check layovers, and managing of aircraft defects with a view to optimize resources, minimize costs and ensure airworthiness.
Operational Accountabilities;
- Develop technically complex maintenance task cards and define all necessary requirements/details, for tasks originating from Approved Maintenance Program, Base Deferred Defects and Engineering documents for effective implementation. Ensure timely revision of instruction cards based on periodic review of aircraft maintenance manual revisions and/or other originating documents.
- Define work scopes and compile work packages for maintenance work on aircraft, both in-house and for outsourcing.
- Develop plan on weekly bases for all inputs related to light maintenance (A check, Special Package). Review work pack highlights to accept maintenance inputs of A check, Special Package, defect rectification for the upcoming week, review the work plans to check tasks conflicts, ground time requirements, and manpower requirements for input for weekly acceptance.
- Study the weekly workload from fleet planning as per the previously agreed capacity and coordinate with Resource Scheduler to ensure the manpower availability for the provided workload accomplishment Review content of maintenance work packages and prepare a detailed implementation plan (sequencing, splitting, project plans).
- Before and during maintenance check, coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering Services and Supply Chain for all modifications, inspections, and repair on QR fleet to ensure availability of manpower, materials, tools and equipment, downtime and necessary paperwork. Feedback discrepancies to relevant sections or resolution.
- Monitor, control, and adjust (where necessary) the maintenance check plans based on day to day actual work progress and highlight any significant deviation from the plan.
- Review Base inputs in case of AOGs, check layover extensions due to inspection findings, new Aircraft delivery delays, and operational disruptions. Workout the revised plans meeting Approved Maintenance Program interval requirements as well as maintenance constraints with an aim to maintain integrity of flight schedule.
- Act as a document reviewer on Engineering documents and Base Deferred Defects that been set up in the IT system. Carry out necessary validation to ensure integrity of uploaded data. Review completed work packages, take necessary action for any incomplete maintenance, and update IT system in order to generate a fresh maintenance forecast.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed b the Head of the Department.

Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
- Degree (B. Eng., BSc in Engineering discipline) or hold an ICAO type Il License.
- Proof of involvement in any process improvement exercise within Planning.
- Any additional courses related to Aircraft Maintenance Planning, LEAN Fundamentals, and Safety Management System.
- General Knowledge of Aircraft Systems, Maintenance Environment constraints.
- Good knowledge of aircraft maintenance data
- Knowledge of Part M and Part-145 Regulations and functions.

The On Aircraft Production Planning Controller reports to the Depth
Senior Maintenance Manager and is a skilled maintenance
technician undertaking a range reporting tasks prioritising and allocating
manpower. The
post holder requires an excellent understanding of the Typhoon aircraft systems
and reporting processes.
The post holder will be responsible
for accurate maintenance and updating of aircraft progress during scheduled
servicing, progressing estimates and forecasts of aircraft recovery times.
Briefing the Part M
organisation on the state of the Typhoon fleet and the recovery actions.
Core Activity
- Provide effective leadership and direct supervision to team members.
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities are appropriately recorded and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems.
- Perform Production Planning & Control
Tasking
– Accurate
maintenance progression of systems, including estimates and forecasts of
aircraft recovery time.
– Engagement
through pre-input planning process for aircraft scheduled for on-aircraft
servicing tasks, including allocation of resources to ensure fleet plan is
maintained.
– Provide
visual management and reporting for current status and projected output date
for aircraft on track.
– Briefing
wider organisation on key issues and providing escalation as appropriate.
- Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on an aircraft or components which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, national instructions, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
- Supervise the team to ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues, escalate as required. Report on any impact to the wider programme.
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately.
- Ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them.
- Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working on aircraft or components in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others.
- Undertake support tasks within the aircraft or component maintenance facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the team. Develop team members using formal assessment processes. Demonstrate sound and comprehensive communication and people management skills in order to exchange complicated information.
- Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance.
- Ability to scope and carry out independent and vital inspections.
- Meet agreed delivery targets at a tactical level through the effective supervision of personnel.
Key Accountabilities
- Performance indicators – Ensure the effective management of regulatory activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impact on continuing airworthiness and generating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to management, as appropriate
- Procedure/standards – Comply with the regulatory framework, its associated procedures and standards and any other company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes, as required
- Completion of activities – Ensure all Part 145 activities are appropriately documented, and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Ensure all Part 145 activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure the integration of Part 145 activity within the business, including the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process. Provide support and guidance to the team.
- Safety Management System – Promote the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within the Part 145 team, together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards.
- Management System Assurance – Ensure Part 145 team activities are compliant with the Regulatory Governance and Assurance framework. Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits are supported by Part 145 personnel and integrated within/across teams. Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate and implement effective improvements within/across teams to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness
- Statutory/Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any regulatory driven changes into the maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO
- Contractual Requirements – Comply with all applicable contractual requirements
Requirements
Qualifications/Functional
Knowledge
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (including a City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent), ideally in Aeronautical Engineering and / or a recognised Engineering Degree from either aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic or other studies relevant to the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircraft.
- A minimum of 2 years working at Supervisor level
- On the Job Training Instructional Techniques
- 5 years practical experience applying aviation safety standards and operating practices.
- 2 years relevant work experience as an operator within the aircraft maintenance component environment. Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft or in bays.
- 6 months experience on type (in the last two years).
- A comprehensive knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance. Management training Typhoon Avionic or Mechanical Trade 'Q' Course or equivalent
