Job Description
As the project HUC Manager you are responsible for managing the planning and delivery of an assigned project’s Hook Up and Commissioning scope. This includes day to day management of assigned hook up and commissioning engineers, strategic planning of offshore marine spread including JUBs. Ensuring detailed work scopes are prepared and scheduled, manpower assigned and work is ultimately executed safely and to the highest standards. Strong commercial knowledge is required to report to management on cost as well as general HUC progress, and put mitigations in place where needed.
Responsibilities- Review, define, and develop project HUC scope and deliverables including HUC execution plans and schedules.
- Management of assigned HUC team to ensure work is delivered as per plan.
- Interfacing with other internal departments and ensuring alignment and strategies are developed.
- Responsible for constructability reviews and ensure items are agreed and closed with cost effective solutions and safe work practices.
- Ensuring readiness process is conducted, followed, reported and agreed prior to mobilization.
- Management of marine spread including JUBs, workboats & supply boats.
- Controlling and managing the assigned HUC budget and report against the budget (EAC).
- Responsible for developing client relationships, conduct project meetings with the client, ensure alignment for execution strategies, deliverables, etc.
- Responsible for conducting HAZID and SIMOPS workshops.
- Ensuring that business and operational risks are identified and managed, and opportunities identified.
- Ensure critical subcontractors and vendors requirements are pre-defined and assigned.
- Have a strong ability to multitask, managing various offshore campaigns and internal/external stakeholders.
- Manage daily progress during execution campaigns, lead daily offshore calls, ensure the safety of personnel.
- Mobilize offshore to ensure visible leadership is felt.
- Experience: 15+ years in offshore Oil & Gas with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

Primary objective
To manage all engineering activities associated with a Mega Projects PMC contract as part of an integrated Client/Company team.
Specific accountabilities
- Responsible for the engineering administrative function, directing and consulting several groups engaged in interrelated engineering responsibilities
- Plan and manage the execution of the multi-discipline FEED/Conceptual Design Studies & EPC engineering in both local and affiliated international offices
- Preparation and administration of design budgets, estimates, forecasts and schedules.
- Recruitment and Development of a technically competent, cohesive and functional engineering team
- Be responsible for the timeliness and technical correctness of all works performed by the Engineering Team
- Technical Integrity - take responsibility for the technical integrity of the team, addressing working methods, tools, quality assurance, peer reviews, communication with team members on other projects.
- Manage value improvement processes
- Manage third party consultants/specialists
- Ensure all design engineering activities meet or exceed engineering standards with regard to quality, cost, safety and performance
- Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system including utilizing the corporate Project Management systems
- Safety - Responsible for personal safety and adherence to safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures
Essential skills/experience
- B. Sc., Engg (Mech., Chem., Civil, Electrical.) from an accredited college or university.
- Must have experience in oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
- Must have experience in related designation / specialty.
- Must have experience in Middle East
- Must have a proven track record of managing multiple projects in Design & Engineering in the oil and gas industry
Matching indicators
- Strong technical skills in the onshore oil and gas industry
- Track record of managing multi projects and multi-discipline design team
- High level of understanding of management of interfaces across multi-functional Company and Client groups
- Well-developed man management and client management skills.
