Primary Objective

To manage all engineering activities associated with a Mega Projects PMC contract as part of an integrated Client/Company team.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the engineering administrative function, directing and consulting several groups engaged in interrelated engineering responsibilities.
  • Plan and manage the execution of the multi-discipline FEED/Conceptual Design Studies & EPC engineering in both local and affiliated international offices.
  • Preparation and administration of design budgets, estimates, forecasts and schedules.
  • Recruitment and development of a technically competent, cohesive and functional engineering team.
  • Be responsible for the timeliness and technical correctness of all works performed by the Engineering Team.
  • Technical Integrity - take responsibility for the technical integrity of the team, addressing working methods, tools, quality assurance, peer reviews, communication with team members on other projects.
  • Manage third party consultants/specialists.
  • Ensure all design engineering activities meet or exceed engineering standards with regard to quality, cost, safety and performance.
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system including utilizing the corporate Project Management systems.
  • Safety – Responsible for personal safety and adherence to safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • B. Sc., Engg (Mech., Chem., Civil, Electrical) from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have experience in oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
  • Must have experience in related designation/specialty.
  • Must have experience in the Middle East.
  • Must have a proven track record of managing multiple projects in Design & Engineering in the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong technical skills in the onshore oil and gas industry.
  • Track record of managing multiple projects and multi-discipline design teams.
  • High level of understanding of management of interfaces across multi-functional Company and Client groups.

Role Overview:
The Infrastructure Manager is tasked with ensuring high quality planning and designing of foundations, building structures & overseeing site work and associated civil & structural engineering activities for a wide variety of projects across multiple locations.

Main Activities:

  1. Work with design manager to establish high quality infrastructure engineering systems detailing procedures, methodologies & guidelines for ensuring effective estimation & management of project costs.
  2. Develop working templates to establish client needs, conducting site surveys, cost estimation, tendering, evaluation & allocation of work to sub-contractors and contractors.
  3. Creating guidelines for value engineering and performing risk management for sites and structures to help onsite teams deliver high quality infrastructure solutions that meet regulatory and HSE requirements.

English - Fluent / Excellent
Arabic - Very Good

Job Skills:

Skills & Experience:

  1. 15+ years’ experience in construction industry (GCC experience is an advantage) with 2-3 years in a managerial role within a medium to large Project Management Company.
  2. Degree educated with a relevant degree (Civil/ Structural Engineering or equivalent).
  3. Fluent English speaking/ writing (Arabic is an advantage).
  4. Cost management & control techniques as well as the techniques (value engineering).
  5. Proven people management skills.
