mselect is looking to hire a Senior Construction Supervisor for a oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar . Candidates must have a minimum of eight to ten (10 to 12) years of experience in relevant construction and installation activities in projects of the oil & gas industry. Fluency in English is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, control, and report Contractor’s performance, man-power deployment, plant and equipment movements, construction slippages, etc
- Conduct daily and weekly meetings with Contractors involving all discipline supervisors, QA/QC Inspectors, and HSE advisors and address/resolve issues hindering progress
- Act as the construction Risk Management representative to identify Construction Risk events, the effects & consequences, propose mitigation measures and take ownership to ensure mitigation measures have been implemented at the site
- Review and forward to management daily and weekly construction progress reports for assigned projects and verify contractor's progress statements for accuracy.
- Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all phases of the project for all construction related matters including inputs during the detailed engineering and procurement stages.
- Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, material requisitions, material receipt inspection, etc
- Review contractors’ construction plans, schedules, method statements, and procedures including offshore logistics.
- Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including material, work, and testing inspections in the fabrication yard, material submissions, and working drawings from contractor and processing documentation as required.
- Check and ensure that all construction works are completed in accordance with approved standards and consistent with contract specifications.
- Coordinate the MCC walk-through, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities with contractors, vendors, and end-users
- Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommends corrective actions.
- Monitor and control work permits to ensure that contractor compliance with conditions fixed on consolidated work permits.
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to offshore sites following the contract award.
- Interact and interface with other contractors, projects, and departments regularly to identify and resolve all construction-related matters especially liaison with Production and Maintenance departments.
Requirements
- Higher Diploma (HND), Diploma in Diploma in Instrumentation and/or Electrical and/or Mechanical from a recognized University with extensive commissioning experience in Oil & Gas projects. Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution
- A minimum of eight to ten (10 to 12) years of experience in relevant construction and installation activities in projects of the oil & gas industry
- Experience in steel structure installation and commissioning of Offshore Projects
- Good knowledge of piping and mechanical installation and commissioning
- Good knowledge of lifting activities to assess the lifting plan and lifting operation
- Experienced in the implementation of construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards
- Understanding of construction techniques for various types of work especially the construction and commissioning activities in Green, brownfields, and Well Head Jackets
- Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution
- Exposure to works by associated disciplines

About the Role Candidates joining as Senior Lecturers at this stage will be part of a fast-growing and elite academic community at OUC. By demonstrating leadership capabilities, motivation, and productivity, they may be considered for senior roles and responsibilities, such as Dean/Associate Dean of the School, Programme Leader, Module Leader, or Coordinator. There are ample opportunities for professional growth within the institution for the right candidates.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to:
Deliver a range of modules across the programme.
Develop teaching materials and assessments for the modules they deliver. Senior Lecturers are expected to contribute to teaching materials and assessment development for all modules across programmes to meet learning objectives.
Update and revise existing modules in line with the latest industry developments.
Collaborate with industry advisory boards to enhance programme relevance and quality.
Develop assessments in accordance with LJMU guidelines, adhering to assessment matrices and deadlines for verification and external moderation.
Act as a personal tutor for students across the programme portfolio.
Mentor and coach students, addressing academic concerns, performance, and progression.
Teach and assess students across written and presentation skills, providing individualized feedback.
Participate in extracurricular activities to foster teamwork and student engagement.
Supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Comply with LJMU academic regulations and OUC quality assurance processes.
Contribute to the development of existing programmes and the introduction of new ones.
Develop and deliver CPD and short courses to expand the School of Leadership and Business' portfolio.
Engage in approved research within strategic priority areas.
Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, and field excursions for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Attend departmental, school, and faculty meetings, and participate in committee memberships.
Commit to continuous professional and personal development.
Proactively contribute to the college’s strategic growth plans and corporate initiatives.
Requirements
About You We expect you to demonstrate the following:
A postgraduate degree (preferably a PhD, or a master’s degree with relevant industry experience). Candidates pursuing a PhD in a related field are also encouraged to apply.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Ambition and motivation to achieve academic research excellence.
Proven ability to inspire and maximise students’ potential through trust, engagement, and leadership.
Expertise in teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring, and assessments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, fostering a culture of trust and mutual respect.
Strong organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and an innovative mindset.
Experience and/or qualifications in teaching at the tertiary level.

Annual Salary:
Between GBP 65,000 – GBP 90,000 (including accommodation and transport allowances)
