Job Description
Oversee maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Troubleshoot issues in chillers, pumps, compressors, and piping.

BB&E is seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** to support the Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), Office of Construction Management (CM) at Doha, Qatar.
**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
**- Provide OBO/Doha a full range of critical engineering and construction quality assurance and management and technical oversight.
- Perform technical inspections of mechanical work.
- Monitor the quality control programs.
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Read design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations.
- Review engineering shop drawings and determine if the final design parameters are withing compliance.
- Observe onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.
- Responsible for performing quality assurance tasks, ensuring contractor’s work is properly inspected and corrective actions take place, ensuring materials meet contract, reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with contract requirements, and resolving conflicts.
- Monitor the construction quality assurance and safety program.
- Observe onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.
- Monitor construction progress vis-à-vis the project schedule and submit weekly progress reports with recommendations based on the technical review of project documents and field inspections.
- Perform technical inspections of the civil/structural engineering elements of the project.

- Review design documents (drawings & specifications) that the A/E prepares as well as perform quality assurance for the construction project in his/her technical area of expertise.

**EDUCATION**:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university in the United States. A Professional Engineering License (PE) is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience required on construction projects of similar scope.
- Overseas experience is preferred.
- Professional Engineering registration is preferred.
- Must possess a Final Secret, Interim Top Secret (ITS), or Final Top Secret (TS) Clearance issued by Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
- At the time of deployment to overseas OBO construction sites for performance on this contract, employee shall possess at minimum Final Secret Clearance. However, must be able to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- Knowledge of International Codes required.
- Must be knowledgeable of Construction Safety Regulations, i.e. EM 385-1-1, OSHA, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, & Word required.
