Fire & Safety Technician

Purpose: Maintain and operate fire/safety equipment; support emergency response and routine safety tasks.

Work Schedule: Schedule‑3 (12 h/day, 6 d/wk; day or night) |

Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar

Project Tenure will be 3 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, test and maintain firefighting systems and PPE (SCBA, BA airline systems, extinguishers).
• Perform gas detection/monitoring equipment checks; maintain logs.
• Support hot work, confined space and WAH controls per PTW.
• Assist in emergency drills and equipment staging.

Minimum Qualifications/Certifications:

• NEBOSH certification.
• Diploma or equivalent in maintaining fire/safety equipment.
• Valid driver's license.

Minimum Experience:

• 3–5 years in Oil & Gas or petrochemical operations.

Job‑Specific Skills (must/strongly preferred):

• Training on gas detection/monitoring systems; SCBA & BA airline operations.

Fire Safety Technician

Qualification:

• NEBOSH certification

Qualification:

Develop and review fire protection and life safety system designs (fire alarms, sprinklers, smoke control, emergency lighting, fire suppression)

Conduct hydraulic calculations, system layouts, and equipment sizing

Ensure designs comply with NFPA, IBC, IFC, Qatar Civil Defence (or other local authority) regulations, and project specifications

Interpret and apply fire & life safety codes and standards.

Prepare compliance reports and documentation for authority approvals

Coordinate with local Civil Defence or relevant approval bodies for design submissions and inspections

Oversee installation of fire & life safety systems on-site.

Conduct inspections and testing of systems (FAT, SAT, commissioning

rain staff, contractors, and occupants on fire safety practices.

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Professional certifications preferred (e.g., NFPA, CFPS, PE in Fire Protection).

Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IFC, and local Civil Defence requirements.

Experience with fire modeling, evacuation simulations, or life safety analysis is an advantage

Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills

• Standby rescue coverage for confined space and WAH tasks; support emergency drills and response.

• Set up and operate rescue systems; maintain ERT equipment (ropes, tripods, breathing air).

• Coordinate with PTW/Area Authority during TAR jobs.

• Competency per NFPA 1006 & 1670 (Confined Space Rescue) documented per OSHA

• Standard First Aid/CPR with AED.

• IRATA Level 1 (Team Member).

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Emergency Response Officer located in Doha, Qatar. The Emergency Response Officer will be responsible for monitoring and responding to emergency situations, implementing physical security measures, and coordinating with emergency services. Daily tasks include conducting risk assessments, providing security training, managing physical security operations, and firefighting when necessary. The role ensures the safety and security of personnel and assets, and compliance with relevant protocols and regulations.

Oil and Gas Experience

Qualifications

• Experience in Emergency Services and Firefighting
• Knowledge and proficiency in Physical Security measures
• Ability to develop and conduct training programs
