About the role
To support the Line Manager in the development of new DQ (Discover Qatar) products, focusing predominantly on the development of DQ owned (created) products. Take responsibility for all aspects of product design, pricing and commercialization including staff training, SOPs (with operations team) and enhancements.
Key Accountabilities include:
Operational
- Support the Line Manager and give output and new innovative ideas to develop excursion and tour packages in and around Qatar.
- Identify and create products and services which match the marketing strategy, target customer groups and the requirements from the key markets of Qatar Airways network.
- Review current products by analyzing and making recommendations based on current needs and future requirements, by reviewing product specifications, requirements and appraising new product ideas and/or product or changes.
- Develop, execute, and manage project plans for the development of new tours and excursions in a timely and cost efficient manner. Inspect and take stock of all tourist related sites, monuments, museums, and other attractions. Monitor customer and consultant feedback on the tours and service. Ensure correct loading and content is hosted within the DO systems.
- Develops DQ product portfolio addressing the customer and new channel needs in line with the unit's business plan. Manages project budgets, prepares financial analysis reports for higher management review.
- Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing and anticipating product cost.
- Provide evaluation in the expertise of:
- Key development of projects by providing feedback / suggestions / advice on design and module changes with consultations between team members and stakeholders.
- Testing products and services, measuring the levels of acceptance and success rates with stringent quality control.
- Initiate a process of continuous improvement to ensure that products are continuously refreshed and improved to better meet customer need and that DQ products are in line with market trends.
- Inspect competitors' products by researching and overseeing product development based on industry best practice.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed bv the Head of the Department.

QualificationsAbout you
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification of bachelor's degree or equivalent is essential
- 7+ years of job-related experience.
- Product development, negotiation and contracting experience at a managerial level in large wholesale tour operations with successful track record in delivering wholesale tour programs.
- Excellent negotiation and contracting skills.
- Excellent understanding of all aspects of international tour operations.
- Comprehensive regional/ product knowledge of Qatar and GCC in particular.
- Sound understanding of margins and profits for a wholesale tour operation.
- High degree of computer literacy.
- An understanding of the international Tour Operator model, including online distribution.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills.

Qualifications About you
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 7+ years of experience in program or project management, ideally within strategy, innovation, or technology environments.
Proficiency in programme planning, milestone tracking, and resource coordination.
Experience managing cross-functional delivery across design, product, technology, and operations.
Familiarity with stage-gate, agile, or hybrid delivery models.
Skilled in developing dashboards, status reports, and executive summaries.
Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Excel, or Smartsheet for tracking programme health.
Ability to interpret programme data and communicate performance trends to leadership.

About the RoleWe are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to be part of our Product Development & Design Division as Research & Strategy Manager in Doha. You will shape the future of Qatar Airways inflight product portfolio by driving insight-led product planning & development strategies. You will lead strategy research, market benchmarking & analysis to inform decisions across cabin design, seating, inflight services, IFE, connectivity, CX & long-term product innovation. You will work closely with the VP Product Strategy and Insights, SMEs, Product Owners, and external stakeholders. The role is instrumental in aligning inflight product development with robust commercial justifications, customer insights, market dynamics & long-term objectives. You’ll lead the product research & analytics team to synthesize qualitative & quantitative insights to support business cases, product roadmaps, and CX transformation programs.
Responsibilities- Lead competitive benchmarking, voice-of-customer analysis and macro-environment scanning to support differentiated product positioning.
- Translate customer insights and industry trends into structured strategic recommendations, scenario plans and opportunity frameworks.
- Work with the SVP, VP and other senior stakeholders to support strategy formulation, long-term planning and cost justifications where required.
- Develop comprehensive business cases for new cabin products, seating upgrades, IFE system, connectivity enhancements, and onboard experience initiatives, including financial modelling, ROI analysis, and recommendations.
- Track emerging innovations, technologies and customer behaviors across aviation, hospitality, tourism and lifestyle sectors to inspire future product directions.
- Drive qualitative and quantitative research initiatives (customer surveys, focus groups, competitor analysis) to capture passenger expectations and market trends.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, redefining processes, SOPs, and KPIs to enhance departmental efficiency and service delivery.
- Perform other department-related duties as directed by Line Manager or Head of Department.
About you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Strategy, Aviation Management or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in strategy, product research, insights and/or management consulting roles, preferably in aviation, travel, hospitality or related sectors.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) or equivalent with experience in process improvement, SOP development and KPI framework design.
- Proven ability to support strategic planning through structured analysis and insight-driven recommendations; proficiency in leveraging AI tools to run research and analyses on large datasets for deeper insights.
- Skilled in benchmarking and maintaining competitor intelligence databases and delivering periodic strategic market updates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in creating performance dashboards, tracking project timelines, executive-level presentations and management reports.
