Purpose :

The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for implementing the organization’s risk management framework, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks that may impact strategic and operational objectives. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices while embedding risk awareness within the organization. Job Summary :

The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for conducting risk assessments, implementing mitigation strategies, developing risk reports, and ensuring compliance with ISO 31000. This role plays a key part in embedding a proactive risk management culture and enhancing resilience by integrating risk frameworks into business operations. Main Responsibilities & Tasks Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for enterprise, operational, and project-based risks, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation. Obtain, assess, and continuously monitor risk treatment plans, ensuring effectiveness and timely execution. Assist the Executive Director (ED) in engaging with senior leadership to align risk management strategies with organizational objectives. Ensure full alignment with ISO 31000, corporate governance frameworks, and regulatory standards. Develop and maintain the risk management framework in accordance with organizational governance policies and external regulatory bodies. Develop risk management training materials and conduct workshops to enhance awareness across the organization. Foster a risk-aware culture by embedding risk considerations into daily operations and decision-making. Analyze past incidents, near misses, and emerging risks to enhance the organization’s risk management framework. Implement lessons learned and update risk controls to improve resilience and prevent recurrence. Assess fraud risks, financial exposures, and oversee the implementation of internal controls to mitigate financial and reputational losses. Support in assessing fraud prevention frameworks, including detection and reporting mechanisms. Utilize risk analytics tools to enhance predictive capabilities and support data-driven decision-making. Develop risk indicators (KRIs) and risk dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting. Support the ED in Board, BAC, and BEC risk reporting, ensuring visibility on strategic risks impacting governance. Assist in defining, maintaining, and periodically reviewing risk appetite statements. Develop and maintain risk dashboards, reports, and key insights for senior leadership and governance committees. Ensure seamless integration of risk management with Operational Management, Internal Audit, and Board Committees for effective oversight. The incumbent shall perform any additional related duties assigned by the respective line manager to meet operational requirements. The incumbent shall ensure the highest standards are followed to safeguard the sensitive and confidential data of the organization. Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, IT, or a related field. Minimum 4-5 years of experience in risk management or internal audit, either with Big 4 consulting firms or equivalent experience of 7-8 years in a similar role. Any relevant certification or training such as : Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)

We are looking to hire a Safety Officer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.

Candidates must have a minimum of 12 years' experience in operational safety, preferably in Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry specifically infrastructure/construction projects, with thorough knowledge on various safety regulations, standards, procedures. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To provide, with full responsibility and accountability, a technical service to Corporation in the areas of Health and Safety during definition, detailed design and execution stages to ensure contractor(s) compliance to established HSE policies, procedures and regulations.
  2. Carries out duties and responsibilities for all areas of work covered in HSE aspects of Major Projects. Ensures adherence by QP and contractor personnel to HSE policies, procedures and regulations with respect to active/passive fire safety systems, special protection systems, life safety and fire risk assessment, safety studies/reviews, security systems, emergency response programs, emergency lighting and communication systems etc.
  3. Responsible for monitoring related activities within project sites and conducting daily inspection and ensuring the work being carried out is in line with approved JSA, Risk Assessment, and Method Statement and approved Permit to Work System.
  4. Responsible for identifying and implementing risk reduction measures in all areas and phases of construction.
  5. Participate and assist in checking and reviewing method statements, JSA's, safety certifications and other related documents submitted by contractors/project consultant. To take necessary action by highlighting and reporting to immediate Supervisor in case of any lapse and/or lagging.
  6. Participate and provide inputs to Sr. HSE Engineer for the implementation of Project HSE Performance Monitoring, HSE Objectives and Initiatives, HSE related procedures, guidelines, standards and policies to ensure Project activities are conducted in a safe, secure and healthy manner and in compliance with DT HSE and Corporate requirements.
  7. Monitor implementation of HSE Legal requirements, regulatory bodies, national laws and regulations, and State of Qatar-ratified international conventions and protocols within Project activities.
  8. Participate and provide support to carry out and maintain records of Project HSE risk register to ensure proper recording, monitoring and close-out of Project HSE Risks throughout project duration.
  9. Participate in review of contractors HSE documentations (HSE Plan, HSE Procedures and other HSE requirements) to ensure contractors are compliant to HSE requirements.
  10. Participate in review of contractor's Safety Officers CV's and competence assessment test/ personal interview prior to mobilization of contractors HSE personnel at project site to ensure compliance with Corporate HSE Regulations for contractors.
  11. Carry out incident investigation, reporting including implementation of close-out of preventive and corrective actions of incidents/accidents that occur within projects to ensure compliance with corporate procedure for Incident management.
  12. Conduct site safety meetings and HSE awareness amongst QP project staff and Contractors.
  13. Conducts safety audits on the project involving all parties to ensure compliance with safety policies and advise corrective actions and follow-up on the suggested actions to ensure proper implementation.

Requirements:

  1. HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline Associate member of recognized safety institution.
  2. Minimum 12 years' experience in operational safety, preferably in Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry specifically infrastructure/construction projects, with thorough knowledge on various safety regulations, standards, procedures etc.
  3. Competent in the use of PC including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and any other relevant software.
