As a Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 1, you will responsible to associate Compliance & Safety Management and other team members in operation of company Compliance & Safety systems and ensure that constant maintenance standards applied to QTR and Customer aircraft are satisfied to the requirements to QCAR Parts 145, M & 147 and EASA Parts 145 & 147.
Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include:
- Assist line manager to carry out planned audits working closely with Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 and record any finding when part of the team. Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to prepare recommendations and audit report.
- Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2, to review corrective action submitted by various departments.
- Assist in updating current company technical procedures and manuals (MOE, TPM, ASL, LSM, CAME, MTOE, RAC & Capability register) in consultation of Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to maintain compliance to acceptable levels.
- Assist in the preparation of Compliance and Safety Notices and Safety Bulletins and submit it for review by Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2.
- Evaluate qualification criteria of certifying staff, support staff and non-Aircraft Authorised staff for granting/ extending/renewing Qatar Airways authorizations.
- Assist Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 to evaluate occurrence reports generated from within technical or externally assigned to technical.
- Prepare recommendations for compliance related queries from other sections/department or companies and submit it to Compliance & Safety Engineer Level 2 for review.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers when required.
- Carry out all other Compliance & Safety activities as directed by Management.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
- Degree (B. Eng., BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering), or Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with ICAO type II license.
- Experience in Compliance & Safety/Quality assurance/maintenance/ continued airworthiness environment/quality auditing.
- Training on auditing techniques as well as QCAA / EASA Part 145, M, & 147 training.
- Detailed knowledge of air legislation, particularly ICAO, QCAA, EASA & FAA Regulations.
- Detailed Knowledge of Compliance & Safety/Quality & Safety systems, continued airworthiness and aircraft maintenance fundamentals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with analytical skills.
- Understanding and application of regulatory requirements.
- Conversant with use of computers and AirNav & My Boeing Fleet.
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities- Define Canonical's security risk management standards and playbooks
- Analyse and improve Canonical's security risk practices
- Evaluate, select and implement new security requirements, tools and practices
- Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical security risk management practice
- Develop Canonical security risk learning and development materials
- Work with Security leadership to present information and influence change
- Participate in developing key risk indicators, provide inputs to the development of key control indicators, and key performance indicators for various programs
- Apply statistical models to risk frameworks (such as FAIR, sensitivity analysis, and others)
- Participate in risk management, decision-making, and collaborative discussions
- Lead quantified risk assessments and understand the value of qualitative data for improvements to quality and engineering processes
- Interpret internal or external cyber security risk analyses in business terms and recommend a responsible course of action
- Develop templates and materials to help with self-service risk management actions
- Monitor and identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of risk management processes
- Launch campaigns to perform security assessments and help mitigate security risks across the company
- Build evaluation methods and performance indicators to measure efficiency of security functions and capabilities
- An exceptional academic track record
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations

- Leadership and management ability

- Assist in the development and implementation of the ERM framework and annual risk objectives aligned with organizational goals.
- Support the risk assessment and monitoring processes in relation to the annual business plan and strategic priorities.
Policies, Procedures & Governance :
- Ensure timely development, updating, and implementation of ERM policies, systems, and procedures.
- Contribute to the creation and review of related policies including Product Governance and Major Risk Policies.
- Monitor adherence to approved policies, processes, and controls to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Coordinate with departments to compile and maintain key risk reports and documentation, such as ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the identification, analysis, and escalation of emerging risks and key exposures across the organization.
Special Projects & Investigations :
- Participate in deep dives, investigations, and special projects to evaluate and address departmental and enterprise-level risk exposures.
- Provide input into corporate-level risk mitigation plans and ensure risks remain within defined appetites.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Bachelors Degree preferably in Risk, Business Administration , or other governance-related areas such as Audit, Accounting, or Compliance .
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in Risk Management and the Insurance sector .
- Risk Management certification (e.g., CRM, IRM, FRM) is preferred but not essential.
