Job Description
The Data Migration Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing data migration solutions to support the successful transition of legacy tax and revenue data into SAP TRM. This role ensures that taxpayer records, contracts, open in-flight financial postings, correspondence history, and related data objects are migrated accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The developer will work closely with the data migration lead, functional consultants, data analysts, and business users to ensure data integrity and readiness for go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Mapping
- Collaborate with business and functional teams to understand legacy data structures.
- Define data mapping rules from source systems to SAP TRM objects (e.g., Business Partner, Contract Accounts, Documents, Cases).
- Support data cleansing and validation activities.
- Data Migration Design & Development
- Design ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SAP tools (e.g., SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW, BODS) or non-SAP ETL tools.
- Develop custom migration programs (ABAP or ETL scripts) where required.
- Implement performance-optimized migration routines for large-scale taxpayer datasets.
- Execution & Testing
- Load and reconcile test data into SAP TRM environments.
- Support mock conversions, data validation workshops, and cutover rehearsals.
- Perform error handling, debugging, and issue resolution for failed loads.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure migrated data meets business and regulatory requirements.
- Develop reconciliation reports to verify data accuracy between legacy and SAP TRM.
- Support audit and compliance checks for tax-related data.
- Cutover & Go-Live Support
- Prepare detailed migration runbooks for cutover.
- Execute final data load into production system.
- Provide hypercare support for post-go-live data issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in
SAP Data Migration
(preferably in Public Sector / Tax & Revenue projects). - Proficiency with SAP migration tools such as
SAP Data Services (BODS)

Migration Cockpit (LTMC)

LSMW
, or custom ABAP migration programs. - Strong SQL and ETL development skills.
- Experience handling
large data volumes
. - Familiarity with
data governance, quality, and security standards

Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing maintenance and repairs including servers, networking and storage devices, such as replacing hard drives, replace RAM, swap CPUs, motherboards, etc.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues over a significant population of affected hardware equipment.
- Contribute and lead efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center servers and network infrastructure.
- Perform active infrastructure upgrades and decommission end of life equipment as required.
- Follow the site's environmental health and safety policies.
