BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services WLL | Full time

Responsibilities

1. Plans the cathodic protection systems surveys for all transformer rectifiers, sacrificial anode systems, continuity and cross bonding points and insulating flanges. Plans the cathodic protection annual surveys for all pipelines and storage tanks. Leads the corrosion technician team on site where appropriate.
2. Analyses all generated CP data and makes decisions for further action where appropriate (troubleshooting, specialist surveys or refurbishment).
3. Prepares CP reports (periodic and ad hoc), scopes of work for specialist CP surveys, scopes of work for CP refurbishment.
4. Arranges supervision of contractors on CP jobs, typically technicians for refurbishment jobs.
5. Reviews documentation for new projects from the various Engineering Divisions within Gas Operations as well as from Engineering Department Mesaieed and Engineering Department Pipelines.

Qualifications

1. Candidate shall possess any of the engineering degrees:
   
1. Bachelor’s degree in Material Science and Engineering
2. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
2. The candidate shall be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
3. He shall be computer literate and familiar with MS Word and Excel. He shall be able to work under own initiative.
4. The work entails a high percentage of time on site.

Experience

1. The candidate shall have a minimum of ten (10) years documented CP experience.
2. He shall have the ability to pass QatarEnergy Permit to Work system and Consolidated Permit to Work system.
3. Shall pass PTW or ePTW as specified by Mesaieed Operations Qatar Energy HSE as required.

(SENIOR) PROJECT ENGINEERS

Responsible for management, monitoring, and supervising assigned projects in a specific area, ensuring completion according to quality, budget, and schedule. Manages the day-to-day operational and contract aspects of multiple projects.

Responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, deviations, changes, and ensuring that projects are delivered to Ashghal standards.

Handover the site (possession of site), conduct pre-contract meetings (kickoff), and handle RO's and approvals, officially transferring responsibility to the contractor.

Review and approve project control systems that measure progress/performance, provide early warnings of deviations, and identify corrective actions.

Monitor traffic diversions (in liaison with traffic unit) to ensure they are effective and safe.

Final interview will be in Spain and/or Portugal.

Mandatory: Arab and English speakers, with 12 years of roads engineering experience.

• University degree in civil engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• Proficient in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.

• Chartered engineer status or working towards it, or registration as a professional project manager.
• Minimum of 12 years experience in design, construction, and procurement of major road projects.
• Experience in administering consultant and contractor contracts related to major road projects.
• Experience managing a team of professional staff.
• Experience working with government agencies or clients at a senior level is preferred.
• Experience working in Qatar is desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

8. Proficient in CIPS and DCVG surveys and interpretations.
9. Proficient in PSP surveys and interpretations.
10. Capable to carry out the Tank internals/bottom CP surveys and interpretations.
11. Capable to understand the CP failure root cause and provide recommendations.
12. Prepare monitoring reports.
13. Coordinate to work with Qatar Energy Corrosion Management team.
14. Ability to provide quality reports in accordance with Qatar Energy procedure.
