  • Determine product conformity to customer specification through independent inspection and tests in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. Identify nonconformity for rectification and assure final resolution.

  • Liaise with Production Supervisor, Senior Principal Certification Tech, Discipline Engineer, Project Engineer, Operations Engineer, Field Engineer, Certifying Authority, Discipline Technicians, Sr. Inspector, Customer.

Tasks and Responsibilities:




  • Appraise product quality in accordance with the Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plan and determine conformity and non-conformity. All inspection results need to be documented and if non conformity exists, documentation shall be raised to establish corrective action.

Key Responsibilities: Implement the client’s management system relevant to your function. Ensure safety for yourself and others, actively participating in all safety matters during construction. Prevent environmental pollution related to the project. Coordinate inspection and testing requirements on behalf of the client. Familiarize yourself with project and discipline-specific inspection documentation to understand contract requirements. Be acquainted with international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., QCS, ACI, AISC). Apply quality inspection procedures on construction activities, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project specifications. Ensure inspection, testing, surveillance, and survey documentation meets the Project Quality Plan, ITPs, and project requirements. Complete forms and prepare reports on inspections and tests for record-keeping. Communicate effectively with contractors, third parties, and end users. Verify calibration records of measurement and testing equipment. Assist in developing quality documentation such as method statements, work procedures, and inspection/test plans. Help identify problems and non-conformances, proposing corrective and preventive actions. Liaise with Field Supervisors and Contractors to coordinate construction testing. Assist Quality Engineers in inspecting and reviewing quality documents related to various construction activities. Monitor the implementation of quality procedures and QA/QC activities. Ensure all civil activities adhere to project requirements, with proper testing and documentation. Witness site and laboratory tests related to civil works. Check materials and equipment against specifications and certificates. Reject non-compliant materials and conduct random dimensional checks. Follow up on corrective actions for non-conformances. Monitor trends in non-compliance and provide feedback on contractor performance. Initiate surveillance and NCRs for approval. Requirements: Civil, Structural, or Architecture degree/diploma with experience in quality control in multidisciplinary construction environments. Preferably with formal QC training and membership in recognized professional bodies. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role; GCC experience is desirable. Strong knowledge of QC practices and testing related to Oil & Gas, Tank Farms, Pipelines, or Petrochemical projects. Position : Quality Control Inspector - Welding

Reports To:

Project Quality Control Supervisor

Primary Functions:

Determine product conformity to customer specification through independent inspection and tests in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. Identify nonconformity for rectification and assure final resolution.

Liaise with Production Supervisor, Senior Principal Certification Tech, Discipline Engineer, Project Engineer, Operations Engineer, Field Engineer, Certifying Authority, Discipline Technicians, Sr. Inspector, Customer.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Appraise product quality in accordance with the Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plan and determine conformity and non-conformity. All inspection results need to be documented and if non conformity exists, documentation shall be raised to establish corrective action.

Co-ordinate with Operations, Production Supervisor, Client, Job Sharing personnel and subcontractor assuring conformity to project requirements.

Perform field inspections of fit up & welding in accordance with project requirements and scope of work as noted within the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan.

Proactive approach in prevention of a nonconformance by interaction with respective departments

Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of Quality System outlined in Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan.

Conduct surveillance audit during execution of the project as per applicable procedures and plans.

Perform surveillance checks on welding consumable storage and handling

Perform surveillance checks on material storage and preservation.

Ensure progressive completion of inspection reports and certification packages

Coordinate closely with client inspector closely for the inspection activities as per ITP requirements

Ensure correct documentation as per the drawings shall be updated in the database system & review appropriately prior to sign/submission

Reports generated manually shall be maintained properly

QRR cards shall be reviewed/monitored for its effectiveness in respective areas for ongoing activities.

Yard initiative for the reporting of good practices, observations, concerns, etc. shall be performed as per the agreed KPIs.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

AWS or CSWIP Qualification.

Internal /External Auditor Qualification

Experience:

5+ years Quality control or related experience in Welding Inspection.
