**Purpose**:
A multi-skilled operator is a person with the ability to work in different positions in the gallery, studio and in location, operate graphic, auto-cue, as floor manager, operate the SQ machine and able to assist cameramen on the floor and on location
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provide operational supervision whilst in the Studio
- Support the gallery & studio teams in the delivery of various productions
- Listening to the Director & following their instructions
- Ensuring the health & safety of all who are in the Studio
- Assist cameramen on the floor and on location
- Liaising with the production team(s) about guests
- Ensuring floor plans & health & safety legislation is adhered too
- Ensure that programme rundowns and scripts are updated and uploaded into the Auto-script system whilst working on live or pre-recorded programming within studios or outside broadcasts
- Liaise with production and presenters to ensure that scrolling is at the agreed pace whilst on air
- Operate Complex graphic machine
- Ensure all inserts and graphics are correct and running properly
- Ensure that programme packages are uploaded and updated into SQ machine
- Ensure to record all lives shows and pre-records ones
- Listen to directors for any changes and re Load/download accordingly whilst on air
- Ensure equipment is in full working order before commencing studio shifts or travelling to outside broadcasts and reporting technical failures.
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the line manager
**Skills**:
- Broad knowledge of sound, camera & lighting equipment
- Up to date understanding of Health & Safety legislation in the studio
- Good awareness and attention to detail
- Good understanding of the Studio environment
- Ability to make quick decisions in a pressured environment
- Ability to collaborate, and to work as part of a team
- Ability to carry out instructions with great accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to frame and compose shots and perform camera moves with precision and speed
- Knowledge of the relevant electronics
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and diplomatic skills
- Physical stamina for working long hours and moving heavy equipment
- Familiar with Graphic machines and engines
- IT literacy skills
- Responding quickly to directions
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve targets within deadline
- Good organisational skills
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- Excellent up to date knowledge of spoken and written modern standard Arabic as a first or equivalent language
- Relevant qualification in photography/film/television, communications or media studies, English or business studies preferred.
- 2 years experience in a similar role or some of the roles
