Primary Purpose of the Job

QatarEnergy is looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer (Systems Security) that will join a team responsible for overall protection, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the ICT systems that supports business operations. The new member is required to support and maintain the day-to-day security operations and system change lifecycle of critical security systems and devices, tools & services. The new member is also required to provide senior technical support for all systems security whilst providing leadership & mentoring to junior team members. The role will be an enabler to the company’s success through development and implementation of security practices that create a secure working environment.

Required Experience and Skills

1. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
2. 8 or more years of demonstrated experience in IT of which minimal 5 years of experience in systems security operations function.
3. Design, deploy, and manage application system security controls such as application whitelisting.
4. Design, deploy and manage Advanced Threat Prevention, Antivirus, host-based firewall/IPS, application control, security scanning for file servers, encryption and device controls.
5. Design, deploy, and manage cloud security function such as Multi Factor Authentication, Key Vaults, Defender for Microsoft Azure and implement the same controls in Amazon AWS and Google GCP.
6. Efficient threat management by integration using visibility from EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) tools and endpoint posture status with remediation.
7. Design, deploy, and manage Public Key Infrastructure and HSM solutions.
8. Design and manage all data plane operations on Key Vaults and all objects in it.
9. Design, design and deploy Privileged Access Management Services which includes management of privileged accounts, secure access to resources (on premise and in the cloud).
10. Strong troubleshooting skills in network, software configuration, log interpretation, etc.
11. Develop and create processes and procedures in compliance with QatarEnergy security policies and internationally recognized security frameworks and standards such as ISO and NIST.
12. Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation (High-Level Designs) for security systems.
13. Identify security controls to mitigate newly identified vulnerabilities and risks; and recommend control changes or improvements as needed.
14. Analyze requests and incidents from QatarEnergy staff and provide solution based on the QatarEnergy Cyber Information Security Framework.
15. Ability to provide information security guidance and counsel to QatarEnergy lines of business in the assessment and development of new business process and related IT processes.
16. Has presentation skills that will gain acceptance of proposed solution from impacted stakeholders.
17. Extensive technical knowledge with the latest security solutions and threat vectors.
18. Has multitasking, problem solving, and strong analytics skills.
19. Demonstrate commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
20. Attains risk management skills in providing security reports and escalating critical security threats.
21. Attains solid project management skills that will lead to serving security requirements and obtain information about solutions and successful delivery.

Educational Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
2. Recognized information security certification such as CISSP or CCIE.
3. Certification in Microsoft Azure and AWS security is a plus.

• Execute and monitor daily maintenance activities of Electrical Field area of work.
• Keep the unforeseen shutdowns in plant to a minimum duration and effectively execute all the jobs in the shortest possible time.
• Execute corrective actions based on recommendations from relevant sections.
• Study frequent failures to recommend remedial actions.
• Ensure obsolescence identification and resolution of bad actors in consultation with OEMs.
• Supervise contractors and technicians to ensure continuous optimum operating condition of plant equipment and systems.
• Implement plans for periodic, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Use engineering principles to identify problem areas and refer complex issues to the Engineering team.
• Analyze equipment and system failures and determine remedial actions, especially in relation to protection and control systems.
• Develop programs and schedules for routine integrity and function testing of electrical equipment and systems.
• Specify, support, and improve protection and control systems.
• Analyze transformer health through tests such as oil BDV, DGA, turns ratio, and sweep analysis.
• Carry out periodic testing and review of electrical protection relays.
• Lead investigations related to failures of electrical protection systems and provide recommendations.
• Review protection scheme designs including differential protection for busbars and transformers, restricted earth fault, and line protection.
• Provide input for the development of plans and budgets related to electrical protection and test activities.
• Provide specifications for the procurement of spares, consumables, equipment, and services.
• Ensure that work permits and toolbox meetings are in compliance with safety procedures.
• Develop internal procedures and test protocols for equipment and protection systems.

• Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in process/operations in Refinery or Linear Alkyl Benzene plant.
• Fluent in spoken and written English language. Good personal & oral communication skills.
  
  • Proficient in Process simulation tools in Refinery or in Linear Alkyl Benzene plant.
  • Professional usage of Refinery Information System (RIS), Process Historian Data (PHD), Laboratory information system, SAP, off-site Automation software's applications and PC software, such as, Microsoft Project, Excel, Graphics/Presentation packages, Workflow charting . etc.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO17025 and ISO 14000 requirements to be able to implement the Refinery's IMS procedures.
  • Good comprehension of applicable International Standards in Refinery.
  • Analytical skills in Refinery or LAB plant economics business.
  • Presentation and communication skills, ability to draft effective written Technical documents.
    
    Qualifications
    
    • BSc in Chemical Engineering or in Petroleum Processing Engineering.

• • Prefer 10+ years work experience in reservoir engineering activities.
  • Experience in key project development phases (Viability, Concept Select, Pre-FEED, FEED, etc.)
    • Good experience in constructing numerical reservoir simulation models (black-oil and compositional), model initialization, history matching, running sensitivities and predictions.
    • Experience in transient well test design and interpretation, material balance modelling and performance prediction.
    • Proficiency in well planning, and economic evaluation.
    • Experience with business planning process.
    • Must have strong teamwork skills. Experience working in a multicultural and integrated environment is a plus. Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
    • Must have experience in mature fracture carbonate fields under water flooding.
    • Knowledge in PVT data analysis.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff and management.
    • Must be familiar with reserves evaluation, classification and booking (SPE PRMS or SEC standards).
      
      Desirable
      • Offshore mega project exposure
      • Desirable to have experience in reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine and special core analysis.
      • Desirable to have knowledge of uncertainty analysis and risk assessment/management.
      • EOR experience.
