Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Structural Engineer (Roads O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and efficient maintenance of road infrastructure projects throughout the region.

• Conduct structural assessments and inspections of existing road infrastructure, including bridges, overpasses, and tunnels
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize the lifespan of road structures

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, and detailed drawings for buildings and infrastructure projects.

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and international codes (ACI, BS, Eurocode).

• Site based Senior Structural Engineer on a large middle eastern construction project.
• Part of team responsible for acting as Guardian of the Design Intent on a project designed by Buro Happold engineers in the UK.
• Responsible for responding to design related questions raised by the Supervision Consultants and the Project Management Team.
• Being the Senior Structural Engineer on the project and reporting to BH Project Director.
• Advise BH Project Director of any technical aspects of the Structural works that may affect construction progress, quality and the like.
• Respond to Requests for Information raised by the contractor in relation to the information issued for construction and ensure that information from the design engineers is incorporated.
• Review Contractor's Structural shop drawings, method statements and material submittals against the contract drawings for compliance where issues associated with the design intent are being questioned.
• Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the Structural works for Contractor's adherence to the design intent in drawings and specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety.
• Provide advice to the BH Project Director in regard to any Structural services related variation costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works.

A B.Sc. or B.Tech. graduate in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university, with an Engineering Registration Certificate issued by the Ministry of Municipality – minimum UPDA Grade C, and 5–10 years of experience in a medium to large contracting firm.
