Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, statistics, and/or mathematics, economics, or information management. Post Graduate Degree is preferred.

Proven experience in utilization of related programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills (including report writing) in English and Arabic. Job Description

The scientific work will include participation in the following tasks to be implemented by the ESC and collaborators:
1. Design and participate in data collection; data analysis; writing and disseminating research.

2. Conceptualize and write scientific publications of research results in peer-reviewed journals

3. Assisting with supervision of graduate students and research assistants Planning and participation in field surveys of marine habitats

4. Collaborate in the development of new research proposals and initiate high quality research in the area of expertise.

5. Contribute to ongoing project management activities, such as progress reports and dissemination activities to stake holders and the general public

6. Collaborate with internal and external partners for the execution of collaborative research tasks.

7. Regular offshore trips on the Qatar University research vessel.

8. Assistance in other research activities that may involve diving.

9. Perform other tasks and duties that may be occasionally required to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University.

**Qualifications**:

- Master (MSc) or Doctorate (PhD) degree in the area of Marine Science, Marine ecology, marine biology, or related field from a recognized and accredited University.
- Internationally recognized diving certification and demonstrated scientific diving experience.
- Desirable qualifications
- A record of relevant research experience backed by scientific publications.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
